yea its like Cob (even though these two bands dont sound anything alike) both bands have horrible vocals but great music. what got me into megadeth is the cryptic writings. i kno its not there best album but the first 5 songs are great on that album.

I didn't always like it, but now I love it.

Somehow it just.... works.

Yeah same here.

denboy 07-13-2005 09:55 AM

The first song I heard by megadeth was holy wars, and that song definately wouldn't have worked as well with any other voice.. That might be why I've always loved it

The first one I heard was Hangar 18, which was years ago, but never gave it a chance or listened to it more than twice and then deleted it.

Then when I was into metal a little more I heard Peace Sells then Holy Wars, and liked it. :thumb:

RustedPieces 07-13-2005 10:02 AM

First one I heard was Sweating Bullets. I didn't really like that song at first but then I heard Dread and the Fugitive Mind and I started to give them a chance.

Funny thing, Hangar 18 is what made me love Megadeth.

Anyone listen to the radio interview that's posted on gigantour.com?

It's really cool. Dave rules.

Rust In Peace....Polaris for me. Amazing song. Still one of my favorites, very underrated.

Bazarov 07-13-2005 08:10 PM

Yeah I listened to it. He's great at guitar, and he might be cool every now and then. But he's still kind of an ass.

Huber 07-13-2005 08:18 PM
Why won't Gigantour play England, or anywhere in Europe for that fact? It's not fair
In the interview he said it's because European tours and North American ones are a little different, and some times North American ones don't do to well in Europe. He used Ozzfest as an example.

MAthiAS 07-13-2005 10:37 PM

Listening to that interview now actually...

Social lubricant

MegaMustaine 07-14-2005 08:22 AM
Oh yeah. I missed that though, the only dates i could get to were 7th and 8th. 7th I was at Greenday (shudder) and 8th i had no money for.
Greenday over Megadeth?

What the hell were you thinking?

Just seeing Green Day without missing Megadeth is pretty stupid.

I bought GD tickets before Megadeth was announced.

There's a download at http://www.gigantour.com

I saw Green Day, then a week later REM, then a week later Megadeth. Twas a good month.

Huber 07-14-2005 01:35 PM

If I can get a lift, I'm going to Gigantour a week from Saturday!

Hell, I should just start walking there now, I can make it.

MAthiAS 07-14-2005 01:57 PM

Check out a bus schedule man.

Ya, youre obviously no Megadeth fan if you like Greenday...

RustedPieces 07-15-2005 11:00 PM

I just realized that there is like half a month left until the covers are due.

Hevy Tred 07-15-2005 11:39 PM

Megadeth has kept metal alive for me.

Every time i try to listen to the new era of metal, i reel back in horror and disgust at how piss poor it all is, Megadeth is like... That breath of fresh air after walking out of a overused porta-potty. Also megadeth has constantly put fourth a strong song set, Even when they came out with a bad album (i.e Risk) They put 2 good albums in front of it, Going back and listening to the first few albums, and then listening TSHF(which i love, anyone else notice the little stab sent out to james/metallica in the album :) ) Rules, I think megadeth should hold the Best metal band title.

Dave continues to make great sh!t happen, therefore he is god, am i right?

(srry if this didnt make sense or anything, its 4am and ive been listeing to MD all day )

Hells Bells 07-16-2005 12:55 AM
Seeing as Megadeth is a great band, I decided to start a thread for them. Hopefully this will get cough*official*cough. So the next Megadeth album is out in September. Do you think they will have a tour to go with it? I really want to see them live.
Of course they do. GIgantour is being used to promote the new album. I can't wait for it :D :D :D

Apparent;y it's supposed to be their last tour :(

Hells Bells 07-16-2005 12:59 AM
one thing I like about megadeth is dave sings different than most metal singers
I just learned how to play die dead enough so yay
megadeth continues to make great music :D

Yeah of course not. I'm not allowed to be open minded and like two bands completely different in style. I bought GD tickets before i even knew Megadeth were going on tour so STFU.

My brother is taking me. He doesn't even like this kind of music, But i can't drive yet god dammit.

How much do you think a Gigantour shirt will cost? $20-25? $10-20?

 I thought TSHF was going to be the last Megadeth album? Or is gigantour to promote it? Which I don't see why.

Probably some rediculous price seeing as it's a festival. Maybe $40.

MAthiAS 07-18-2005 10:54 AM

At least $25, seeing as how that's what they were on BTU.

RustedPieces 07-18-2005 11:07 AM

My friend got one for $40 CAD, on BTU.

MAthiAS 07-18-2005 11:21 AM

Okay.

VicRattlehead99 07-18-2005 04:45 PM

23 it is comin to pheonix yes yes yes !!!!!and i am going there with at least 100 bucks in my hand.(it is my first megadeth concert)

Bazarov 07-18-2005 06:40 PM

My friend finally brought my ticket, I'm really stoked. But he's the one giving me the ride to the concert and he absolutely hates all the bands there except Dream Theater, I'll probably end up missing Fear Factory, but I guess it's okay, I've seen them before. I just hope he doesn't be a bitch and calls for our ride to pick us up after DT is over. I'll stay and get a taxi home.

Blackmail the Universe, I was referring to the tour.

They are with Gigantour, they've said it's gonna be their last tour :upset:

whoa...I haven't been on this thread for a while, and looking back I realized that I already responded to a similar post hehe

What? I thought Mustaine was going to do this as a yearly festival thing. It's just a one-time thing?

Hells Bells 07-18-2005 09:18 PM
What? I thought Mustaine was going to do this as a yearly festival thing. It's just a one-time thing?
Yeah, I was wondering about that too, unless he plans to organize it and not participate after this. Well, this is what Dave's said about Gigantour. It sounds like he's making himself clear on this.

"This is the retirement farewell tour. It's not gonna be like the KISS farewell tour," which has been running for several years."

Bazarov 07-18-2005 09:24 PM

Damn, that sucks well hopefully Mustaine will change his mind. It was supposed to be my dad and I going to this but he got ill, so I'm going with a friend and my dad told thinks he'll go next year.
