Quasi. "Featuring Birds" is a wonderful blast of slightly rough indie pop.

dkmaddog 03-01-2005 08:11 PM

I bought the new TMV album today and just put it in. Sounds good thus far. Prior to this, I was listening to the new Robbers on High Street album, Tree City. I was very impressed by that one.

Luxor 03-01-2005 09:44 PM

ffcbassest 03-02-2005 01:29 PM

Ive been listening to a lot of incubus the new cd

Bukowski 03-02-2005 01:52 PM

Pavement, and Neutral Milk Hotel.

Amazon had these two bands top of the "Lo-Fi" section, an they'd received great reviews, so I decided to check them out.

After a few listens, I can now count these two albums among my best ever.
People, if you've not heard these bands, you really should check them out if you get a chance.

Iai 03-02-2005 02:10 PM

I have Crooked Rain Crooked Rain, Slanted & Enchanted, and In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. All of them are 3-star albums for me. Loads of people on here love them though.

Today I was digging Elton John's greatest hits, Rufus Wainwright's Want Two, and some Smiths. Suggest some stuff to listen to that will reinstall my masculinity and heterosexual leanings.

wheelz 03-02-2005 04:44 PM

morrissey - you are the quarry

3rdplanet 03-02-2005 05:16 PM

65 days of Static, mCbItching I must say.

Like EItS collide with something else, probably a keyboard with a stammer.

Electrocution 03-02-2005 06:53 PM

I bought Frances the Mute and Kind of Blue yesterday...too much greatness. Of course, my Kind of Blue has a big-*** scratch on it (straight from the case, mind you) that causes Freeloader Freddy and Blue In Green to skip like a couple of biatches.

pixiesfanyo 03-02-2005 07:43 PM

Moon Safari lately.

YDload 03-02-2005 08:34 PM

Frances the Mute, of course.

Happymeal 03-02-2005 08:42 PM

Zappa 03-02-2005 09:09 PM

You can send it to me on AIM when you get it, happy.

I got it yesterday for $15.90 AU. That is cheap as heck.

pixiesfanyo 03-03-2005 06:13 AM

Live at Mississippi Nights 100 - Mars Volta

Probably the best recorded show they've ever done.

Happymeal 03-03-2005 06:29 AM

Harry and the Potters-Voldemort Can't Stop this Rock(cd)

a fairly local to Massachusetts band that plays pretty-soft rock on the topic of Harry Potter that plays in varius libraries and other functions to promote reading. They poke a little fun at the popular Harry Potter series. Currently, they are on tour in the UK.

Bandaid 03-04-2005 01:24 AM

4 for £20, you say?

I hope HMV is open tomorrow.

Iai 03-05-2005 10:16 AM

Yeah. Some awesome stuff in there, too. There was 3 other album I had to put back because I was short on time. Nick Drake, Dr. Dre, and something else I forget. But I'm going back soon. :)

They also have Opeth, Megadeth, and Judas Priest's entire back catalogues on sale, and The Arcade Fire's Funeral for £8.99.

I spotted all this in 10 minutes, so there's probably more awesome stuff.

CSD & the Soul Machines 03-05-2005 11:19 AM

Within the week I bought:

Kings of Leon-Aha Shake Heartbreak
TMV-Frances
Cursive-Burst and Bloom
Bright Eyes-Digital Ash

I enjoy them all but TMV has been in constant rotation for a couple days.

mister mister 03-05-2005 12:52 PM

this is what i've been listening to lately

Here Come the Clones is a great new album with really interesting beats. Imagine Cornelius and DJ Shadow with Sonic Youth and early Brian Eno. you should check it out at:
