Why shouldn't they? They are as good as most guitarists out there and it fits the music.
I just personally don't like it when they are technical. I enjoy them for the vocal performance more than anything, although there are some good riffs and cool bass in the mix. I don't however like the drummer very much.

Dimmu Burger 10-02-2008 11:32 AM

I respect your opinion, but I don't see what's not to like, especially with the drummer.

Collis 10-02-2008 11:46 AM
Makes me want to see them even more now tbh :\

I need a lift down to sheffield tho as my mate who mainly goes to gigs with me I reckon is gunna bail for me for, wait for it, a new world of warcraft expansion pack.

Unbelievable
Why cant you train it?

Tyler 10-02-2008 11:47 AM

Moe could probably be a little flashier but I'm not sure how it'd pan out. Sounds like a good night, Dimmu (Dan?). Rody probably will listen to your CD, if only because I know they get very, very bored.

Frankie, where's Sheffield in relation to Leeds? I have a buddy who just moved to Leeds (from Toronto) and I wonder if the Sheffield show is the one he'll be at. He's the guy who's been to like 40 PTH gigs with me, we think it'd be hilarious for PTH to be playing a show across the pond and just run into him.

HighandDriving 10-02-2008 11:50 AM

Has anyone listen to Rody's solo stuff?

It's acoustic.......

Yeah I would enjoy a little more stuff on the drums, but I hadn't thought about that until now. Yeah it was a lot of fun. I hope I run into Rody again at some point and I can ask him if he liked the cd. It's a longshot, but its worth a try. And yes its Dan.
Has anyone listen to Rody's solo stuff?

You know that stuff is a joke right? He's been doing it since pre-Kezia, although it was much much more offensive before Vagrant entered the picture. He basically "writes" those songs and records them in one take. I say "writes" because he doesnt (or never used to) write any of the lyrics down, and the chord progressions can almost always be traced back to a few Smashing Pumpkins songs. But yeah, some of them are hilarious. And even with his voice sometimes being a little, er, off (sometimes intentionally), the guy has such a ridiculous sense of melody. They really get stuck in your head. I wish I still had all the old ones that used to be on the purevolume, especially the one about white kids saying the n-bomb. I do still have the one about how if winter was his girlfriend he'd beat her ***.

http://www.purevolume.com/rody

For the curious.

Dimmu Burger 10-02-2008 12:24 PM

I saw a youtube video from this thread awhile back. Not bad.

classic stuff

Tyler 10-02-2008 12:26 PM

He usually only performs acoustic when there's an after-party when he's extremely drunk or when he has to kill time while they set up. Either way, it usually involves him getting hit with things thrown from the crowd (which they got used to at a young age, because it apparently happened pretty intensely when they opened for Korn/Bizkit 5 or so years ago).

beans 10-02-2008 12:26 PM

wow opening for Korn and the bizkit

Dimmu Burger 10-02-2008 12:29 PM

Now they are better than both bands combined.

beans 10-02-2008 12:30 PM

they were better than both of them combined as soon as kezia was released

Dimmu Burger 10-02-2008 12:31 PM

True.

Leeds and Sheffield are both in yorkshire and that would deffo be the one he'd be at seeing as it's like a 20 minute drive from Leeds to Sheffield.

If a mate of mine bails megabussin' it would be the likeliest thing I'd do.

That was a fun listen, though that audio quality sucked balls.

2muchket! 10-03-2008 02:29 PM

That interview of arif and rody where some black presenter makes the whole interview about rody calling arif a 'sand ******' is hilarious. Just purely for the fact the bloke is a massive bellend and Arif is the one sticking up for rody.

beans 10-03-2008 02:30 PM

the one who got called the slur lol
media are wanks

Phantom 10-03-2008 03:29 PM

Can't wait to see these guys along with Unearth on the UK Never Say Die tour in November. Best two bands on the lineup.

Going to be awesome to see Arif's bass skills in person.

That's MuchMusic for you. The guy interviewing them is actually a cool dude, he's just really bad at his job.

Benzilla 10-05-2008 10:20 AM

The link to Arif's interview died.
