Alright. My review for The Final Cut is done.
http://sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=9689 Check it out :smoke:
Nice review. I have The Final Cut on my computer, and its slowly growing on me. At first I didnt really like it at all. I still think its too lyrics-based, but I'm starting to like it more. That review does come off as a bit negative though. Did you like the album?
where can i find this live at pompeii?
I'd imagine anywhere. I got mine at Best Buy. |
Check your local library. Mine has all sorts of sweet DVDs, including The Wall, Live at Pompeii, Pulse, and Live 8.
|
Mine doesnt:mad: However I got my ticket to Waters, Im so excited.
|
You lucky bastard.
He was in Seattle a few weeks ago. Its only about 4 hours north of where I live, but I dont drive. So, I couldnt go. I would have loved to though. Gilmour was in Seattle a few months ago, too. Same story :upset: |
Both of them skipped most of the south, so driving wasnt even an option for me :upset:

I got mine yesterday. :D:D What kind did you get? |
Silver, Im not willing to pay $200 for a concert. And bronze looked overly crappy.
|
Gold all the way. It was actually cheaper than I thought. My friends were talking of some "backstage tickets" that were going for $350 but that sounded a bit rubbish =/
Would be pretty shweet but
Nice review. I have The Final Cut on my computer, and its slowly growing on me. At first I didnt really like it at all. Did you like the album?
It's actually my favourite  I was just trying to be as unbiased as possible, because while I love it, it definitely was a little flawed. Notice I gave it a personal score of 4.5? :P I hope I encourage people to check it out for themselves regardless of the bad rep it has. I did and I haven't regretted it. :) |
Speaking of The Final Cut it would be interesting if Waters plays some of it on his tour.
|
I checked it out briefly towards the end of last year, and didn't think much of it. Might have to re-obtain it again at some point. That being said, I never really liked anything post-The Wall that I've heard.
I suppose I really only listen to 6 PF albums though, which is enough for me to get my fix. |
So what seats did you get? If silver ill probably be right near you.
|
Silver. Section 45A, so I'll be looking diagonally at the stage.
|
Dammit, I missed out on the pre-sale, because of this bloody flu I have.
|

Ah ok im section 30. Ill be looking straight but ill be further back. |
Ah you're in the lower circle though, which is a bonus considering you will be at the other end of the venue. It's going to be a great show.

Making me jealous, Greg. I hope I can get in on the public sale now... :( |
ITT: Riva realises he should listen to G Mac more. :p
|
Pink Floyd sucks anyway...so what are you guys talking about? :p
|

Kill the heathen! |
 Nah, I loooove some Floyd. Just look at my last.fm:
http://www.last.fm/user/TxusMx/ Floyd is up there :D My playcount is soooo small compared to Jason though....Bastard. |
Ah you're in the lower circle though, which is a bonus considering you will be at the other end of the venue. It's going to be a great show.
Yer, I was a bit apprehensive about section 30 at first but it's probably not too far away from the stage. |
Well, this sucks. It was always going to be tough to afford the concert, but I was going to make it. It was going to be tough to organise flight times, but I was going to make it.
Now I have unavoidable issues from Feb 4th - 6th. Good times... Bleh, at least I have my albums. *coddles all Roger Waters and Pink Floyd merchandise and music to chest* |
Where do you live? It seems strange you have to fly. Isnt he covering all capital cities?
|
:( That's sad.
I was willing to fork out the big bucks, but my friends weren't. We made a compromise and got silver tix. The seats better not suck or I'll hold a grudge something shocking  |
That sucks hard Jason. :(
|
The seats don't look to bad in brisbane for silver.
|
I haven't been to Rod Laver (Melbourne) for a couple of years, so I can't really remember if they'd be any good. Here's hoping. :chug:
|
I am so excited about this, with the freedom of a 2 3/4 hour set I hope he plays the fascist parts of the wall, its definately my favourite parts of the album musically. Lyrically would have to be all of disc one.
|
I read this set list in the paper...
In the Flesh Mother Set the Controls For the Heart of the Sun Shine On You Crazy Diamond Have a Cigar Wish You Were Here Southampton Dock The Fletcher Memorial Home Perfect Sense Leaving Beirut Sheep Speak To Me Breathe On the Run Time The Great Gig in the Sky Money Us and Them Any Colour You Like Brain Damage Eclipse The Happiest Days of Our Lives Another Brick In the Wall part II Vera Bring the Boys Back Home Comfortably Numb That's pretty almighty. It's not In The Flesh with the "?" either, so it'll probably be the one during the "at the show" section of The Wall. Good to see he's dusting off The Final Cut, too. Would like more solo stuff though :( |
Wow that looks like a pretty amazing set.
I havent heard much of his solo stuff. I downloaded "Pros and Cons", but I didnt like it. What is his best solo album? |
