Dried Muffin Remnants 03-01-2005 05:38 PM
To the Dogs/Pigs conversation. The Dogs represent the military police in a communist society. The Pigs are the rich, controlling interests. The reason even Dogs need shelter is because these Pigs wield immense power over all who live under them. Think of a Pig On The Wing as being an immense overlord, hovering above the earth and casting a shadow over the everyday activities of the average man.
Sounds very Orwellian.
You were missing out sir.

To post above me: PF junkieism is nothing to be ashamed of :)
I'm not ashame. I'm thrilled.

I haven't gotten like this for any other band besides the Beatles, and now that I've got all of the Beatles album I'm interested in, it's nice to have a new addiction.

Yeah, Beatles and Pink Floyd are definitely the only two bands that I'm really that obsessive about. Unless you count like, orchestrated type stuff. Well, they're the only two rock bands I'm that obsessive about. But yeah, I understand ya.

Permanent Solution 03-01-2005 05:53 PM

/can't stand most Beatles albums

I'm glad you can get obsessed with this band then. If you want a band it will take forever to get a complete discography of though, look into Yes or Santana haha.

Riva 03-01-2005 05:57 PM
Man, it would be nice to see Pink Floyd doing Animals.

But I will kill to see them perform the entire WYWH album... that would be awesome.

I just can't get enough of them after seeing Live at Pompeii. I have to see it every morning before I go to school, and then I hear one of their albums before classes start.

I'm turning into a PF junkie.
I saw Beyond The Darkside (an Aussie Floyd tribute band) perform ALL of WYWH, DSOTM, plus choice cuts from Meddle, MLOR, The Wall and Animals. :thumb:

IRON MEN 03-01-2005 05:57 PM
I actually might be stoppin by a music store with Vinyl Records. I might actually pick up some classic floyd ones if they have em, since this oportunity never comes by often.
I just bought The Wall and DSOTM on eBay for about $40 shipped. :-P

Probably because we are so darn cool.

DeusExMachina 03-01-2005 06:02 PM

You crazy aussies. But seriously speaking, the Aussie Pink Floyd is ridiculously good.

Stereotypes++

It's true, while we have almost none. Maybe I'll start one.

/doesn't feel like it.

thunderzstruck 03-01-2005 06:17 PM

Anyone else think that DSOTM's cover is just about the coolest idea for a cover known to man?

DeusExMachina 03-01-2005 06:18 PM

The DSOTM cover is way cool. I just saw a new WYWH 25th anniversary t-shirt for sale on liquidblue.com, most awesome shirt EVER. But, it's sold out... sad face.

Otherside 03-01-2005 06:18 PM

I liked WYWH's cover more than Darkside's, but I like all PF covers, really.

I prefer a spear.

Lie.

As to DSOTM's cover...I like it, but I see it so much that I'm rather bored with it now.

I see it atleast once a day from people wearing the shirt.

DeusExMachina 03-01-2005 06:27 PM

I never see people with DSOTM shirts, so I think they're cool. I think I'm still the only person in my school with Pink Floyd shirts (I've got a WYWH diver shirt, and the tye-dye with Gilmour playing guitar on it.)

I saw several today, granted I go to school with something like 40k people, but it's still disenchanting.

Nice. There's this one kid that I know, who's pretty cool, who has nothing but Pink Floyd shirts(about 7?) and a Zeppelin shirt. He has from Wall to Darkside to Animals to one that I don't know about apparantly.

40k? Wow. I take it you go to a big university. Can I ask where?

Otherside, what is the picture on the shirt you don't know?

ASU (55k total, but 40+ on my campus)

Distant Echoes 03-01-2005 06:33 PM

My favorite floyd shirt that Ive seen is probably either the '73 tour or the marching hammers. Then again, there isnt really a bad floyd shirt.

DeusExMachina 03-01-2005 06:48 PM

Wow. That's a cool shirt.
