I've started calling bands Pop-Rock now, because these bands have zero association with punk.

yeah, i've always done that with bands like good charlotte and stuff. i either call them pop-rock or power pop.

Look man, bands let labels put things out for them because the labels offer to help them out.. they split the costs and the profits 50/50 (at least that's what most labels do... Alone, for example).
Getting 'signed' is stupid, because 'signing' a band is about making money.
Get that into your thick ****ing skull.
