Or he may just call him a faggot and pretend to destroy miik's mind with his magical powers, quote a few stupid powermetal songs and leave... |

Back two-three years ago, I loved Classic Rock, but like all these newbie pre-skaters now classic rock kiddies all around me, I only liked the 'popular' songs (even though I knew every single **** Beatle song).
When this fad came, I didn't want to get involved in it, so I stopped preaching classic rock, and tried desperatly to find a band I can get involved in and know a lot more about (and thus far I've failed) so I can be seperated from the trend. Dammit, I liked it when it was all cool and stuff that I was one of a kind. |
man, I've always loved classic rock, I grew up on that stuff since I was born. Best there is.

I wouldn't consider beefheart psychadelic. Oh and the Beatles created psychadellic rock. |
^Beefheart is Psychedelic - Blues - Rock.
The Beatles didn't create Psychedelia. The Grateful Dead were basically the first. |
Right.... :thumb:

But that's of course opinion, as is the rest. So, it depends on your perspective on it all. :) |
Expirimental blues is my perspective.
Who are the stooges?
wait...maybe i don't want to know ;) |
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?
o and for u classic rock fans, the crime of the new century was that the Yardbirds new CD, Birdland, recieved no attention at all. that deserved a grammy, or 6. so are there any other classic rock fans out there, and even if ur not, have u been noticing somewhat of a revival in interest for that sort of music?
i have some friends at school who play guitar like me i stick just to the classic stuff...before i played i use to like Linkin Park, Korn, all that crap. playing guitar changed me. i hoped that it would change them, but they still listen to slipknot and that crap but yet, they like hendrix and zeppelin too. |
They created the 1st real punk sound. besides velvet underground but I dont like Lou Reed
|
You sound like a teen that just got into classic rock.
Stooges anyone???
MC5 > Stooges But I love The Stooges. Self titled is good, but it gets kind of dull after awhile. Their other albums are great though. :) I pulled out American Beauty today. What a perfect album. Okay, so what's everyone's opinion on The Grateful Dead's American Beauty? |
The Grateful Dead........not a fan........lets get a good topic
|
No, The Grateful Dead are loved by pretty much all of us, but you.
|
I for one on American Beauty can not find a single song that i dont like on it. my favorite song on it would be either ripple or friend of the devil. without a doubt it is my favorite studio album by the dead.
but i do think all the songs are definitely about a million times better performed live. but of course thats only my opinion. :) |
I love the stones.. i just have such a connection between richards/jagger!!! i love all their stuff, and also love their bluesy rock style... did any of you know that they got their name from a Muddy Waters song? Some of keith's solos are eargasmic, such as the one in gimme shelter, or sympathy for the devil.
|
My favorite track off of American Beauty, would have to be "Brokedown Palace" and "Sugar Magnolia" :).
|
whoo hoo.
