Most jam bands record all of their shows, and you can than buy them from their site.

I bought the Gov't Mule show I went to.

Ya, it makes sense they record it, I suppose I just hadn't thought about it until now.

Against Miik! 07-12-2005 11:32 PM

So I was watching VH1 classics when I learned two new things about Pink Floyd. First off, after viewing the 'Welcome to the Machine" video, I realized they are, in fact, insane. Also, it seems at least one song from there early dayz sounds like the Beatles, which is cool.

RockAndRoll 07-12-2005 11:33 PM

Man, anyone who has seen the wall knows they're insane.

*has never seen it

Actually, I probably would not have kept watching Welcome To The Machine, but for like a minute and a half all they had on screen was an animated skull sitting in the desert, and I couldn't help it.

You should see it, it's kind of (just kind of though) completely insane. I've never seen the welcome to the machine video though.

JonG 07-13-2005 12:39 AM

ALice cooper is fun live. Especially front row.

That looks like a good list pink. Time of the seasons is a great song.
Though I prefer Jimi to SRV

yeah it was bound to be an emo-ish playlist. did you see bright eyes up there too? yeah. stupid me. :upset:

you know what, in everything but that song, i find him only tolerable. well, that and riviera paradise.

czGLoRy 07-13-2005 12:53 AM

have you ever noticed that the people who are most passionate about music are either into rock or metal? Most people I knew used to only like rap, but when they heard enough classic rock, they started to love it. Just today TWO of my friends were playing Led Zeppelin, both of them "hated" before they met me.

Its the best, it will get noticed again :)

p.s JPJ's avatar always make me think he's badmoon.

are those bands actual emo?

Jeff Buckley rules.

Hey, I think I'm the 1,000,000th person to ever say that.

Anyway...I have that Postal Service song on my computer too :upset:

PinkFreud 07-13-2005 02:13 AM
are those bands actual emo?
eh. bright eyes could be considered emo. in fact, i believe they are. the others, not so much. arguments could be made for the postal service and maybe iron & wine. maybe jeff buckley but i prefer to think of him as transcending genre classification. yeah. hes cool like that.

brettberry 07-13-2005 02:15 AM

was the genre emo around in classic rock days? I hope not, that would ruin the name.

PinkFreud 07-13-2005 02:30 AM

dont think so. so we should probably get back on the topic. haha. so uh...bootlegs are sweet. and so is jeff beck. i got his biography and its quite interesting.

Against Miik! 07-13-2005 03:28 AM

Rod Stewart was the singer for Jeff Becks first band after The Yardbirds. So Rod didn't always suck.

Grow up and shut up with the emo hating kkthnx:). Also, emo is a kind of punk so can't be classed as Classic Rock.
Rod Stewart was the singer for Jeff Becks first band after The Yardbirds. So Rod didn't always suck.
Beck is pretty awesome, he always seems to find some new way to bounce back and surprise me with a different yet pleasing sound.

drugstore cowboy 07-13-2005 09:56 AM

Bump

Of course Rod Stewart didn't always suck. He used to be so cool, singing with all the cool bands and such.

np: CSNY - Sea of Madness

PinkFreud 07-13-2005 10:06 AM

the faces were ok too. but his stuff with the jbg is excellent. of course, becks playing got better after he dropped singers altogether.

ATM 07-13-2005 10:22 AM

Postal Service are not emo. Neither are Bright Eyes.
