Flaming Lips - In A Priest Driven Ambulance
Meat Puppets - Mirage

quite a few songs on Mirage reminds me of fIREHOSE songs. I like some of this a lot, but some is just dull. I'd say it's a decent album overall, though. And that's one of my favourite Flaming Lips albums.

Anxious 07-15-2007 02:41 PM

Thats my favorite FLIPs album. "Five Stop Superior Mother Rain" is so good.
Meat Puppets - II

I've always liked this, but recently I'm thinkin' that this is almost a perfect album. I'm addicted pretty bad to this band right now.
"We're Here" is like the best song ever. It's no wonder I also like Yo La Tengo's "The Lie and How We Told It" cause they both got that dark, ambient nocturnal desert country/western feel to them.

Is there any more music like this I can get my hands on?

sexymuffin 07-15-2007 06:04 PM
I'll have to oink that then. Now is it good?
tbh you should download centaur's in streams and the ackley's self title from oink because i have them uploaded and i want to get my share ratio up :/

I have a feeling you'll like the album Jimmy Wine Majestic by Red Red Meat. "Moon Calf Tripe" and "Lather" if you're looking for specifics. They fit the description, minus the ambient.

what else is like this record, in that it is similiar in it's story telling quality, or general poetic flow style.

Saccharine Trust- We Became Snakes

Its depressing to see so little people on lastfm have listened to it. Its a lost classic.

asdf 07-16-2007 10:50 AM

I, apparently, am digging The Strokes -Is This It, because that's what the music in the coffee house is.

This album brings back memories of lame.

Kyle 07-16-2007 10:57 AM

I think The Strokes are good.
Is This It is good.
Room on Fire is good.
