Well, there's a big arguement on who was the real first supergroup. Some say it was Cream, others that it was Blind Faith and others say CSNY.

Cream was considered a supergroup because Baker and Bruce were very well known by their peers as the best in their instruments, but they were not really known by the masses. It all depends on the way you look at it really. It's in the eye of the beholder.

B0nz0 03-23-2005 03:29 PM

buffalo springfield came before csny and cream came before blind faith

Walrus Gumboot 03-23-2005 03:32 PM

I wouldn't say that Yes is a supergroup, but Rick Wakeman was very, very good

This actually brings up a topic I was going to bring up

What do you think of Yes? I really love them. It seems like they were alot more popular backin the 70's but don't get as much aknowledgement nowadays, I am shocked at how many people my age have never heard of them

B0nz0 03-23-2005 03:34 PM

yes is one of the greatest collection of rock musicians ever assembled.

It's like I said, it depends on the way you look at it. When it comes down to it, you are the one who decides who was the first supergroup.

I like your taste in music :D

I was stricken last night at how random the lyrics to Siberian Khatru are, I think he made them up on the spot

Badmoon 03-23-2005 03:52 PM
yea i was thinking along those lines, but what bands had ginger baker and jack bruce been in that were huge before cream? just the graham bond organization and u can't call that a very large or successful band. eric clapton had been in the yardbirds true, but one person doesn't make a super group, hense derek and the dominoes isn't considered a supergroup. me is confused
They were each well known musicians. Baker and Bruce were looked at as one of the best players in England at the time.

Badmoon 03-23-2005 03:53 PM

And Buffalo Springfield were not a supergroup.

B0nz0 03-23-2005 04:16 PM

the rock and roll hall of fame calls them one. i think that's a fairly reliable source.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-23-2005 04:18 PM

Well Im getting shrooms from a very trusted source this weekend. :)

Badmoon did you only post one G.P. song?

The next poll shall start in 5 min.

Badmoon 03-23-2005 04:20 PM

Well, they are incorrect. Stephen Stills was not a big name before B.S. and Neil Young had only had a small stint with Rick James in Canada (He wasn't known either). And Dewey Martin, Bruce Palmer, etc were even lesser known.

Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame is wrong.

I'll post another soon :)

And I am also going to do shrooms within the next week (spring break).

Against Miik! 03-23-2005 04:25 PM

Who cares shrooms are gay anyways. Do you really feel the need to tell everybody that you are going to waste your money on something that will ultimately have no productive influence on your life? I don't.

B0nz0 03-23-2005 04:26 PM

schyma let us know when it's up!

That is the last time I'm going to say that :p

I never said I didn't. It's just I don't want to be some 25 year old burnout who stills trips out on shrooms in his parents basement.

Dont worry BM, your still my bro, in the black person kinda way. I just dont agree with a few of your life decisions.

That is silly. You act as though they are addictive.
That is silly. You act as though they are addictive.
No theres no physical addiction. But if you crave the feeling so much, your not gonna stop.

Woodstock 03-23-2005 04:41 PM

You're pretty stupid to say that they're not addictive.

EDIT: as miik said, it's the feeling of euphoria that's addictive.

Badmoon 03-23-2005 04:43 PM
No theres no physical addiction. But if you crave the feeling so much, your not gonna stop.
Well, if did them once and then quit, seems that the addiction isn't as great as you'd think.

Now, I really like to smoke pot, but if you told me I should/had to stop, it would be very easy.

No, because they are not addictive. Thickasabirck does them all the time, he can certainly stop. Don't be foolish, it is a pastime, not a life style.

So stop. Prove you can quit.

Has he proven to you that he can stop? And yes, marijuana can most certainly lead into a lifestyle.

Badmoon 03-23-2005 04:46 PM

Do you need an example. Is it that hard to believe?

Woodstock 03-23-2005 04:48 PM
Do you need an example. Is it that hard to believe?
Yes. If marijuana isn't addictive, then why did you do it again?
