I live in Regina. Sk. Cool place.

np - Devil Went Down to Georgia.

Can you believe that Charlie Daniels played on one of Bob Dylans albums (it may be more than one, I'm not sure) but he wasn't allowed to play fiddle? I read that in Chronicles, I'm not sure why he didn't play fiddle, I guess the producer or whoever it was didn't want a fiddle on the album.

edit- and this was long before The Charlie Daniels Band.
Charlie Daniels is cool. I got Chronicles out of my library, but it turned out to be a book on tape....read by Sean Penn.

Oh well, I'll still listen to it.

np; The Beatles - Glass Onion

Jeff Healy's coming to the Calgary Stampede tomorrow and playing on the Coke Stage, which is a free attendance show! I just might have to go to that, and that only.

For those of you who don't know, the Calgary Stampede is a rodeo type event, and it's the most popular in the world. I have no need to go to it, but with Jeff Healy playing for some reason, I better go.

Jam2Me 07-12-2005 04:38 PM

I finally got George Harrison's Brainwashed and its awesome. I had a sampler of the CD with kind of a tribute music video with the song "Any Road"
I already knew I'd love the CD from the sampler, but Jeff Lynne producing it makes me like it even more. His son seems like a decent musician from this and Concert for George, I wonder if he has any plans for doing something on his own...although he doesn't need money or anything.

Yeah, I miss them too. The sixties were good times, eh brother? I remember them. Oh yeah, I don't. And neither do you. Or anyone else in this thread. And I don't miss them, because I have albums. Sweet, sweet albums.

Such as:
I finally got George Harrison's Brainwashed and its awesome.
Awesome. I remember I got that album when we first got a dvd player.

That's how I want to live the last years of my life. In a house, far away from anything, making music.

I don't think my parents even remember the 60's.

The only exception to this rule might be bcf, but he only posts in the Beatles thread.

I haven't seen him in a while though....

ATM 07-12-2005 05:03 PM

I'm sick of people whining about rap. Honestly, you can go to the store and buy whatever you want, who cares what is on the radio?

rap > AC/DC, Stones, Beatles, Deep Purple

Lunch 07-12-2005 05:05 PM

Truth. While your around, how much are tickets for the Tull show? My pops might be interested in going.

BludgeonySteve 07-12-2005 05:08 PM
rap > AC/DC, Stones, Beatles, Deep Purple
I would have to go Beatles, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Stones and then rap. But there is a lot of good rap.

See, guys? You're not the only ones that can simplify your names.

ATM 07-12-2005 05:13 PM
Truth. While your around, how much are tickets for the Tull show? My pops might be interested in going.
Not sure, dude. I doubt it will be expensive.

You don't want to go?
Not sure, dude. I doubt it will be expensive.

No, I meant he might want to go with me.

Notice: If you haven't voted in the final bassist poll yet, and you want to vote for Bruce, JPJ, or Geezer, stop and vote for Entwistle, because he has a chance to win.

ATM 07-12-2005 05:18 PM

haha I'd have to come over there and get you high when he wasn't looking.

I voted Geezer. I love Sabbath.

Lunch 07-12-2005 05:19 PM

He most likely wouldn't want to go since he's only into Tull's early years, not just the Ian Anderson solo extravaganza years.

ATM 07-12-2005 05:33 PM

I'll try and find the ticket price.

50, 60, or 80$

WTF?

Yea, same dude.

We should try and go to a show at the 930 club.

Also, @ Badmoon and Ray's argument.

I might try to go see Widespread Panic at Nissan if it isn't too expensive. I also might go to 311 there since a bunch of my friends are going.

I haven't checked any other venue's upcoming concerts recently.

And I would get involved in Moon/Ray's argument but I really don't care enough about The Stones, AC/DC, Deep Purple or even The Beatles to get involved in a useless argument.

Anyone here feel like posting Machine Gun? I'm gonna (try to) learn it, but I don't have the song I realized.

Lunch 07-12-2005 05:50 PM

Well these are the Musicianforums and we are in R&M in the classic rock thread, so it makes more sense for people in here to have a band avatar than a sports one.

ATM 07-12-2005 05:50 PM

I would, but I'm not on my PC. I'm on my grandparents ancient one.

Lunch 07-12-2005 05:51 PM

I would, but I'm lazy. You mean the version from Band of Gypsies right?

And Ray and Moon, don't have a (serious) meaningless argument.
