Where does everyone read? I mean like novels.

I find that I can only read them on the toilet, on the bus and in bed before I go to sleep and sometimes in a pub, if the musics aren't too loud, everywhere else there is usually too much distraction. I need a place where I have a comfy chair and the permission to smoke. ):
Interesting question.
Reading on the toilet is cool, reading before going to sleep is also cool.
I read in the train today, which was ok, ecause I had my own music playing.
A nie comfy chair and no distraction = the way to go though.

Thoughts? They sent me a CD and I'm sure I'll play it because it's local...but the guys seems pretty nice so I am considering bringing them in studio but I have awful taste in music :p

Deth 02-02-2008 03:22 PM

I can't read for pleasure at school at all, but at home I can read just about anywhere comfortably.

superpeer 02-02-2008 03:29 PM

I don't know, people are always shouting or arguing or watching TV in my house, that **** distracts me, you know.

It's not bad actually.
But nothing special imo.
A lot of (too) clear influences of different bands, which makes them sound like 'I've heard this before'.

I wouldn't mind if you played them in your show.
I don't know, people are always shouting or arguing or watching TV in my house, that **** distracts me, you know.
Distracting sounds suck.
My sister always talks so loud as do her friends.
Like if their deaf, all the over the top loud laughing sucks.

I don't have a comfy chair on my room though, just my kingsize bed.
But laying in bed tempts me to sleep, so that's not always a good idea. :(

Tyr 02-02-2008 03:40 PM

Well, so long, guys. I'm off to work.

the2stranger 02-02-2008 03:42 PM

Later Bjorn, enjoy riding the trains/metros. :)

I s everyone leaving?
R&M seems to be asleep. :-\

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 03:44 PM

I'm here, and far from asleep. I'm on a Jesu kick.

ATM 02-02-2008 03:46 PM

I'm getting some work done before I go home to meet my sister's boyfriend.

superpeer 02-02-2008 03:47 PM

My sister's boyfriend is afraid to come into our house. ^-^

Txus 02-02-2008 03:47 PM

I'm leaving in about 2 hours to a friends party, otherwise...I'm still here :)

Jesu brings me in a sleep like state.
But in a good, hypnothic like state.
I love that feeling.
I'm getting some work done before I go home to meet my sister's boyfriend.
Make a good first impression.
Be very rude, like:
"Son, Respect my sister, or you will learn to repsect my fists.:smoke::cool:'

Then he knows the drill.

Ashes 02-02-2008 03:50 PM

I'm here and not asleep, I'm just multitasking...and there's not a lot of good discussion to be had here today...

Exactly. They have the strongest emotional pull of any band I've ever listened to... by far. It's inescapable too, the mood engulfs you in the thick atmosphere. I love it.

EDIT: god you are lame, vince. :p

That also explains my love for ambient drone like Nadja and The Angelic Process.
And well, a lot of drone and funeral doom takes me away.
It's just amazing.

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 03:55 PM

Hmmmm... maybe that's why Nadja isn't clicking with me yet. I think I'll start listening to them in the same state of mind that I listen to Jesu in.

Ashes 02-02-2008 03:57 PM

I could never get into drone/doom of any kind. Well, unless you count early November's Doom (death/doom). I haven't really heard a whole lot of this "drone" thing though...is it like a kind of doom or what?

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 03:57 PM

Drone is exactly what it sounds like... droning. You would hate it.

one day when you go to school full time and work two jobs you too will understand :(

actually hopefully you'll never do that :p

ATM 02-02-2008 03:59 PM

I can't see you liking drone much.

Petey:

I plan to introduce myself nicely, then take him aside and tell him that if he hurts my sister, I'll **** up his face.

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 03:59 PM

Vince, I will never ever do that. I promise.

It's not really doom like in the traditional sense.
But it has a doomy, gloomy atmopshere.
Lots of repetition and trance inducing riffs.

I love it.

Anyone else remember when everyone on here liked Dragonforce (ie: before they got popular) and their drummer used to post in the Dragonforce thread?

Times have changed.

Kage 02-02-2008 05:04 PM

I never liked them.

Tyler 02-02-2008 05:05 PM

You know what I mean.

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 05:06 PM

I used to like DragonForce :D

Hey guys, if I were to start listening to Radiohead, which album would I start with?

Kage 02-02-2008 05:06 PM

I told you already, Ok Computer.

Bordello 02-02-2008 05:08 PM

don't start listening to radiohead

You could just start with Pablo Honey and you'll get to see the reduculous amount of progression they've made.
