Yeah, I always have to crank my stero and that the bass on the speakers gets all floppy.

N.P. Iced Earth - Stand Alone live \m/:cool:\m/

Stormrider 04-12-2006 03:27 PM

Yeah, I can't put it too loud or else the bass cracks. I like my music loud :(

Yes, I went for the old red-neck grandpa there. Safe to say, it didn't come off.

Stormrider 04-12-2006 03:35 PM

Yeah, I still don't get it :p heh

PepsiMetal 04-12-2006 03:36 PM

South Africa gig:

Recording sounds great. During Die, Die, chant in Death, what kinda drumming is that first time I hear it.

Father_Jack 04-12-2006 03:37 PM

Yeah I got them. Sound awesome. Hetfields voice seems a bit stronger atm.

Anyway back to my request. Anyone got a good quality blackened recording?

Stormrider 04-12-2006 03:39 PM

Thanks Pepsi Metal, I'm going to watch that after. Well, the Creeping Death one.

PepsiMetal 04-12-2006 03:51 PM

It's just mp3, not video. The video is also available though, including their rehersals for the gig.

Bazarov 04-12-2006 04:01 PM

I still don't really like James' clean voice stuff that he does. Why can't he get nasty sounding like he used to sing? :( Oh well, they still put on a good show, and when they come back to my town I will see them again.

Jev 04-12-2006 04:08 PM

Maybe he can't do that no more?

Bazarov 04-12-2006 04:10 PM
Maybe he can't do that no more?
:/ I don't see how someone can't just make their voice growly. But I don't know anything about vocals. I blame the vocals lessons he took.

PepsiMetal 04-12-2006 09:09 PM

You mean those KEA vocals? haha those were pretty good, I was listening to hit the lights the other day in the car, and his voice sounded like he was using every bit of his voice and energy to scream out. No wonder he blew his voice like 8 years later. :p

Bazarov 04-12-2006 10:30 PM

Well that too, but I mean his kind of vocal style from KEA up to Black Album. They weren't super raspy but they had aggression and attitude. But now he sings cleanly but wutev.

Against Miik! 04-12-2006 10:44 PM

He still has a good voice I think. You can't expect somebody to sing like he did for 20+ years and keep up the same intensity, so he adapted, which is cool.

Bazarov 04-12-2006 11:05 PM

Yeah, you're right. It's not enough to make me hate Metallica or anything though, just a little thing I'm picking at.

Chu 04-12-2006 11:16 PM

What about Araya? I'd be more pissed off at his vocal loss then Hetfield's :p

Bazarov 04-12-2006 11:22 PM

Not only do I hate Floridians, I hate Australians too! :p

Chu 04-12-2006 11:59 PM

Haha :)

GenuineImitation 04-13-2006 12:01 AM
Not only do I hate Floridians, I hate Australians too! :p
lol. What wrong with Floridians?

Bazarov 04-13-2006 12:28 AM

Nothing at all, it's just a joke from the Megadeth thread. A3wsomeman is Floridian, and he said he hated Slayer, so I said I hated Floridians.

Ok.

So, any updated on the album?

James has a fantastic voice. s&m is a good example, where he hits every note, its great. and on turn the page he is very versatile, does some quick note changes, sounds brilliant. and then there's loverman, where he shows his ability to sing bass, and then skip to the higher chorus. his clean singing owns, i love it. NEM was brilliant. but then i love the way he sings on songs like sad but true aswell. the thing is is that he does all this while playing! quite amazing... and dyers eve.... the riffs and the vocals on that song cannot be easy to do at that level of quality.

if theres one thing i doubt in his voice, its his thrash vocals. i doubt he will/can return to them. he can still sing them well, which is good.

Jev 04-13-2006 04:16 AM

If he could sing every gig like S&M that'd be great.

2muchket! 04-13-2006 11:04 AM

So anyone heard Triviums cover of MoP ??? I thought it was a decent enough effort and Heafy didn't splurge all over it. Its on their myspace if ya wanna judge for yourselfs.

Jev 04-13-2006 11:05 AM

Yeah it came out with Kerrang! last Wednesday.

Josh 04-13-2006 11:08 AM

i actually really really liked the Trivium cover of MoP, and IMO the BFMV cover of Welcome Home was pretty good as well. i haven't got past Disposable Heroes yet though. i got bored and changed cd :p

Jev 04-13-2006 11:11 AM

Yeah the covers are pretty good in general but it's a boring CD.

It's not that hard to sing and play songs like enter sandman/the Black album type stuff.however I would imagine it is quite difficult to do dyers eve though

I really liked Triviums cover. and ya'll might crucify me for saying this but...I'll say it anyway

I actually like Fightstars cover of Leper Messiah more then I like Metallica's. That's the only song on the album that really blew me away. The other bands all did pretty good...but that dude from fightstar has a incredible voice and I really like what they did with the song.

so there come to my house and kill me now

Josh 04-13-2006 11:13 AM

yeh. tbh, MoP isn't one of my favourite 'tallica albums anyway, i think the favourite album title is taken by RTL or LS:B&P.
although there's a lot of stuff off the s/t and Load/ReLoad that i like.

Don't worry I love the Fighstar cover too.

RTL is my favourite also.

2muchket! 04-13-2006 01:16 PM

RTL is my favourite and the only 'tallica album I still own

PepsiMetal 04-13-2006 01:18 PM

What happened to those "others" you had? Did you stomp on them when lars sued napster?

Triangle 04-13-2006 01:21 PM

Is there a site where I can listen to these toonz? (MOP Kerrang covers)

PepsiMetal 04-13-2006 02:19 PM

LoL You lost them

I really like the first 5 albums. I can do without Load and Re-Load. I still need to get garage Inc. (plugs?)

Joe 04-13-2006 05:59 PM

Hey everyone. Just got back from a bit of vacation. Did ya'll miss me??

So, how's everyone liking the Kerrang album? I've been listening to it a lot lately and to be honest Trivium does the best job but they absolutely ruined the main solo. I actually kind of like the Battery and the Orion, but not much else on there is really good. They ruined Damage Inc.
I really like the first 5 albums. I can do without Load and Re-Load. I still need to get garage Inc. (plugs?)
Ah yes, Garage Inc. is very good.
