Wow. I just saw "The Devil's Advocate," and all I gotta say is "wow." That was a DAMN fine movie. Probably one of the best depictions of a demon I've ever seen.

Now I just need to conquer "The Excorcist." Not very scary any more from a few standpoints, from what I hear, but even so, I bet psychologically a movie like that'll scare the shit out of me.

For those of you in the mx Audioscrobbler group, I say we revolt! Vote there.

So, I must elaborate on my camping excursion. So I went camping, and we hiked. Very far. We made it to a place called Dewey Lake(It's an eight mile uphill trek, and it took us about 4 hours to do so) and it the elevation of the lake is probably something like 8,000 feet. Just the thought of a lake atop of a mountain range perplexed me, because I just figured that the water would somehow break through, and drain to a lower elevation. Sure enough, though, we made it up there and there was a lake. A danm COLD lake at that. As we approached the lake, you could feel a bunch of mist and the air getting colder. Once we got there, wow, it was an amazing site. Just a body of water engulfed in fog, and nothing around but mountains covered in pine trees. It was really quite the moving expirience. Definitely worth the sixteen mile round trip.

NP: Tool- Disposition

I think if I had to choose a song to describe how truly beautiful that site was, I'd choose this song. :)

Cool, I thought I was the only one who liked The Devil's Advocate. Keanu nearly ruins it, but I definitely think Pacino overrides that and makes it a good flick.

I was thinking about that the other day. Who would be the new leader?

Lunch 08-17-2005 09:30 PM

Wait, how do I join the group?

Kingofdudes 08-17-2005 09:31 PM

log in, view the page, on the left there should be a "join group" link.

Meh, I thought Reeves did a good job, at least by the end. He always seems unusually flat in his serious roles, however.

And I agree, Pacino was AMAZING. I loved how they made his teeth all straight so he could have that evil grin.

Well, a good job by his standards I suppose.

Cain 08-17-2005 09:33 PM

He definitely did a better job than he did in "Constantine," that's for sure.

Lunch 08-17-2005 09:38 PM

I never even bothered seeing that.

I don't know. :p I guess you would be natural, since you are King Gilmour. I just thought it would be hXc to revolt and stuff.

I revolted
Alex- wtf...So my old world history teacher had this sister in law who lived somewhere back east, and he would tell me about all the stupid things that her kids would do. The wierd thing is that half of the things you mentioned were things that he mentioned too.... Do you know what her last name is? I see him every once in a while and I should ask him, just out of curiosity. :D
First of all, is your teacher black? If not, I doubt there's a relation.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-17-2005 09:49 PM

Sister in law, Alex.

I liked that movie, I thought he did a good job in that movie. Maybe I have crappy taste in movies.

Steerpike 08-17-2005 09:50 PM
Sister in law, Alex.
Shows I'm not very observant. :p

Anyway, their last name is Fleming. Might have have changed lately though. The mother of those kids goes through husbands like popcorn.
I never even bothered seeing that.
It was entertaining. That's about it though. Definitely not much in the way of intellectual stimulation.

EDIT: Congrats, I liked it too. But Reeves certainly didn't make the old "You do this, there's no turning back," cliche seem any newer.

EDIT 2: lol at LarsAgi's picture. Nobody tries harder than him, I swear. Poor kid just can't get a break.

Steerpike 08-17-2005 10:06 PM

I thought Constantine had some great visuals and a good plot, but Reeves was a very poor fit for the movie, especially if you've read any of the Hellblazer comics.

Someone with experience, both on here and there and a taste for good music.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-17-2005 10:17 PM

I think we should make Bartender the leader/king whatever, but he a.) is on vacation and b.) has no audioscrobbler on his current computer.

:(

8 to 1, how rebellious is that!

Just what I was thinking. >_>

/starts political propaganda campaign against other possible candidates

KingOfDudes listens to Britney Spears! HeavyRiva said audioscrobbler sucks!

Kingofdudes 08-17-2005 10:24 PM

I wonder how many votes it takes to start the revolution.

why is it that the aim chats have like 6-7 people, but only 3 people talk?

All of this tonight, on "48 hours with bobotehravinghomo"

halfdeadhippo 08-17-2005 10:25 PM

If you're referring to the "musicianforums" AIM chat, it's because there's people in there who just never leave the room. So chances are, they aren't even at their computer. Of course, I wouldn't know, because AIM's being a bastard right now.

Liberi is actually *******!

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-17-2005 10:28 PM

Because we scare people off with your talk of avant garde and rebellion. :p Also, there's only 2 people not talking. Kage is probably sleeping or something, and Pete is working on his song for the jazz metal competition.

Any takers on the AIM chat, add DrJakeDestructo to your contact list stat!
