that's the latest you've stayed up? The latest I've stayed up this summer is around 5:00. The earliest is probably 12:30-1:00.

brettberry 07-11-2005 12:03 PM

I acually go to bed around 10 or 11am and wake up about 8 or 9pm. i sleep in the day and work at night.

BludgeonySteve 07-11-2005 12:08 PM

I know that one. I have experienced living with a bandmember and it didnt work out.

ColonelSanderz 07-11-2005 12:54 PM

Hi all
On Thursday I saw Rick Deringer and Mountain concert. I had only heard some Johnny Winter with Rick Deringer on it and listend to one or two songs by Mountain. Rick Deringer was awsome, he can really play guitar. At the end he broke out into some shred, which I didn't expect from him. Mountain was cool too. The kind of songs they played were like heavy classic rock. They did a good rendition of Crossroads. I also got to see Jason Bonham play with UFO.

brettberry 07-11-2005 12:59 PM

that solo Rick did, did it have like really cool Harmonics in it?

ColonelSanderz 07-11-2005 01:05 PM

I think it did. It was funny to watch him tap, he looked all streesed out.

brettberry 07-11-2005 01:09 PM
I think it did. It was funny to watch him tap, he looked all streesed out.
Yeah, that solo isnt his. His Trainer taught him that because it was to teach him to innovate on his solos. It isnt in any scale whatsoever.

robo2448 07-11-2005 02:53 PM

Bump.

I have to wake up at 6:30 for my job :upset:

So I have to go to bed early.

I still need to listen to that Mountain cd that Lunch uploaded a while ago.

I've got to go to bed at a respectable time, I guess, for my job at the mini-putt. Sport of kings, that.

Arlo Guthrie, anyone? I want to get into his work.

For some reason I can't download any of those. I noticed in one of the concerts that Maroon 5 performed Keep On Rockin In the Free World. I wonder how that sounded.

Daniel! 07-11-2005 04:36 PM

It sounded bad

clown_phobia 07-11-2005 05:13 PM

Why do you think it is that the Classic Rock bands dominated Live 8?

robo2448 07-11-2005 05:15 PM

I heard Maroon 5 completely butchered it. I haven't personally seen it though.

hethamulburton 07-11-2005 06:02 PM

The classic rock bands grew up and were created to rebel against Vietnam and gov. and now they dominated Live 8 because it dealt with pushing the gov. to do something about poverty in the world.

jpj 07-11-2005 06:13 PM

Not classic rock, but I just got John Butler Trio-Sunrise Over Sea. Most of you would probably like him; he does roots and blues for the most part.

robo2448 07-11-2005 06:21 PM

He's good.

Somewhere in the south, I would guess.

I hard Danny Allman was from, like Mich. or something.

See, I heard that one of the guitarists learnt how to play guitar by going out to a cabin for like 3 mos. with nothing but guitar and food just to get away from everyone and taught himself how to play guitar. Then when he came out him and SRV did a gig together in Seattle doin nothing but guitar solos.

Georgia. Also, there is no Danny Allman to my knowledge.

I got Searching for the Sound: My Life with The Grateful Dead by Phil Lesh today.

I saw that Life of Pi book, what's it about?

Oh I love Life of Pi. It's a good book.

Does anyone think that Jake Holmes' version of Dazed and Confused is better than Led Zeppelins? I think the only thing that really makes Zeppelins version better is Bonhams drumming, other than that I like the original.

ATM 07-11-2005 07:53 PM

I don't really like Plant's voice, so I like the original version better.

I can understand that. Does anyone know what year Jake Holmes recorded Dazed and Confused? I think his solo is way better, it's a lot trippier (surprisingly) than Pages solo.

How could it be late 80's when Zep's version came out in '69? Jake Holmes did the original version.

Duane Allman was the first guitarist, did you mean him? He died in a motorcycle accident.
