Here is a song by my band, This Is Not A Test.
Long Distance Marathon (inspired by Marathon by Rush and The Lonliness of the Long Distance Runner by Iron Maiden) He Stepped outside that fateful day, he knelt down and started to pray. He jogged around the starting line, he was healthy, he was fine. CHORUS- The wind whipped through his hair, his lonliness was a scare. He was running, he was running, he was running the long distance marathon. (Instrumental Break) The captain fired the gun, he knew this wouldn't be fun. They all started jogging, the air started fogging. It wasn't loud, there was no crowd, they were waitin' at the finish line. Repeat Chorus Instrumental Break He broke into a run, he felt like he weighed a ton. He was close to the finish, his will never seemed to diminish. He was the one, the race was one. Chorus Guitar Solo Chorus and fade out. What do you think? |
The wind whipped through his hair
Sounds like Baywatch, but without Pam or Carmen. Gay. What's the point to the lyrics here? Marathons aren't typical lyric focuses. |

The Utters are a punk rock band. Plain and simple. Not everything w/ a melody is pop-punk.
|
nice rhymes
god i hate people who rhyme songs
Rhyming is okay if you don't sound like an utter tool while you'e doing it. |

Today I went bowling then me and my mate got caught in a snowstorm on the way home so we stopped off at this pub and both had half-pound burgers and chips with a couple of pints. It was pretty cool.

|
ok i want peoples opinion. my band is putting out a demo and we want to do it live. good idea or not
|
you mean live as in at a show, or live as in you all recording their parts at once?
live at a show = no. it sounds like s'hit unless you have ALOT of mics up. live as in all recording at once = sure, you still need reletively nice equipment, but not nearly as much as to record a live show with any kind of decent quality. |

I really dig that total butt-rock radio song that's always on, the one that goes, "Well, it ain't no surpriiiiiise..." and I'm not ashamed in the least bit.
Wait, no, I'm incredibly ashamed. |
