So I guess that is the only thing holding you back, right?
Yeah. Drums are expensive though. I play my friends drum set whenever we have band practices..

brettberry 07-11-2005 01:21 AM

I got a Pearl 7 piece for 60 bucks at a flea market. its pretty awesome except it needs new heads.

Believe it or not, thats all it needs, and then its a perfect set, I would use it live if it wasnt so small.

jamsomecephalic! 07-11-2005 01:33 AM

either that or buy one one piece at a time, go to pawn shops, last week me and my buddy patches were at a pawnshop and there was a nice steel snare there for 10 bucks

Glitterati 07-11-2005 01:34 AM

So I found out a friend of my dad's has a record player he wants to give away, and he said I could have it. We're going to go over to his house sometime soon and pick it up. Turns out he has a huge stash of records he can give me too

When I find out what they are, I'll report back.

brettberry 07-11-2005 01:35 AM

One word. EBAY!!!

Badmoon 07-11-2005 02:13 AM
I'm into No Doy right now. Good album.

Quit talking about other things than Classic Rock.

Okay.
No Doy is not Classic Rock.

And if all we talked about was Classic Rock, this place would be boring.

The Ocean, NIB (the bassline of course), Eruption's solo riffs, and alot of Aerosmith's Toys in the Attic stuff.

As for riffs... Sunshine of Your Love, Layla, No Quarter, You Know You Know.
had to cry today, swlabr
These two for me as well as ToBU/White Room, My Generation, and Tommy riffs.

So, Lola is a fantastic album.

PureAndEasy 07-11-2005 09:36 AM

Favourite Riffs? Hmm... Shake A Leg - AC/DC, Pinball Wizard and Pure And Easy - The Who, Celebration Day, Living Loving Maid, and Misty Mountain Hop - Led Zeppelin, Fire and Crosstown Traffic - Jimi Hendrix, Soul Kitchen - The Doors, White Room - Cream(love the little solo riffs)

I'll stop now, lots to name.

RockAndRoll 07-11-2005 09:59 AM

I love the bass riff in break on through.

Lunch 07-11-2005 10:00 AM
I love the bass riff in break on through.
I love Break On Through in general.

Mr. Black 07-11-2005 10:20 AM
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?

This is the thread for general classic rock discussion.
My dad was on about that after Live 8 after me sayin how great it would be for Led Zep (with a different drummer) Had done a set. And he started rambling about how new bands like THe Killers and Kaiser cheifs and razorlight are all playin in a classic rock scene and puttin it back into the limelight, I ahve to say he has a piont
