I listened to the first few songs of the new gorod album today. So mediocre. It's just Arsis with less gothenburgness there's absolutely no *** behind it. If I'm gonna listen to death metal it needs make me feel *AAAARGHGHGH* but no there was none of that

I like how the drummer actually does some decent stuff on this album instead of the former bassnarebassnare of leading vision and the fact that they actually earned the label of "tech death" this time is pretty neato. However, it has no ***, and *** is a necessity. Death metal that isn't heavy is just laughable

I can totally tell the difference between Gorod and Arsis. But. They're very similar. Musically. Listen to the music. The song structure. It's similar.

i wouldn't say new gorod is melodic death metal, it is overly melodic and "happy" at times, but the album eventually sorta grew on me, but it's still their weakest album to date.

New Gorod has melody ya but that doesn't make it a melodic death metal album like Arsis or anything.

imo the overall feel is melodic death metal. Compare it to Cryptopsy or Cannibal Corpse or Iniquity and then to Hieronimus Bosch or Dark Tranquility; which is it closer to? But enough of that I could really care less what genre it is.

I definitely like the new Gorod better than Leading Vision which is their only other album I've heard, and don't get me wrong neither of them are BAD albums, I just don't think they should be put on a pedestal like they are here
