Omega Red 12-02-2004 12:39 AM

I wish i could go to the NAMM show, but i think the one in Nashville is normaly better, or atleast thats the one i see most of the videos for

PaulSimonon 12-02-2004 12:39 AM

I better get some sleep.

Omega Red 12-02-2004 12:40 AM

meh sleep is overrated.

super deluxe 12-02-2004 12:40 AM

Ok, so I had a really random (I think good) idea. Sort of like the forced listening thread, but for bass players. i.e. someone recommends a song, then others listen to it and say what they think. Could be stuff by famous bassists or not, but I thought it'd be sort of a cool addition to the Casual thread.

Yes? No?

Omega Red 12-02-2004 12:40 AM

resting is where its at

"I've been meaning to get some Yes and Dream Theatre though."

The JoZ 12-02-2004 12:43 AM

Omega Red 12-02-2004 12:45 AM

Ok I'm going first, and since im on a King Crimson benge i'll post one by them

Matte Kudasai, by King Crimson

super deluxe 12-02-2004 12:46 AM

Quatre, you start and I'll listen to what you recommend. By then maybe I'll have thought of something.

Low-B-Mundy 12-02-2004 12:47 AM

I dont really care for Yes or DT. Yes seemed to happy to me, Never really cared for Chris Squier, I think Bruford is a great drummer but i like him better with King Crimson. DT is too 80's hair metally

Remember I'm the old dude :D "DT is too 80's" I don't know about that !!!

Omega Red 12-02-2004 12:53 AM

every thing about the band sounds cheesy, espicaly the vocals, and the guitar.

super deluxe 12-02-2004 12:55 AM

Ok. So, King Crimson:

Cool effect-y intro, mellow tone. Very laid back and simple (brushed) drums. Sweet sounding vocals, again, pretty heavily effected (lots o' reverb) which makes the lyrics a bit hard to distinguish, but they're pretty good from what I catch. Overall, one I'll keep in my iTunes, and probably look for more of there stuff.

My pick:

Skin Reciever, by Auf der Maur

edit: if you can't find it, I'll send it to you over AIM (UsualFire)

Low-B-Mundy 12-02-2004 12:55 AM

quatre07 I'll give you the Vocals, I like Myung so much that I bought a RBXJM2

Low-B-Mundy 12-02-2004 12:58 AM

King Crimson: Tony Leven SWEET

Or is it Levin hell again it's late
