Holy crap i want to get that game. I've heard the QB field of vision feature is incredible. I can't wait until NHL '06 comes out too.

the field of vision thing is so cool...just tonight I found out that you can fool defenders...

I was playing as the Pats against the Jets, and it was 17-14 Jets in the fourth quarter...I was at about the Jets' 20 yard line I called a pass play where the flanker and split end (in my case, David Boston, who I signed in the free agency period, and the slot reciever and tight end (Bethel Johnson and David Graham, respectively) run post routes.

So I called it and I was looking for a reciever and I saw Graham breaking free, but with a safety still close enough to break up the pass. So I look down at Branch, got the safety to leave Graham to double Branch, then at the last second looked back at Graham and fired a pass to him when he was wide open in the corner of the end zone.

Touchdown Pats. 21-17 lead. I wound up winning 28-17.

But the reason I am a Madden God is because I got the Browns into the Super Bowl

That's pretty cool. I'll bet it's annoying when the computer does it to you though.

I could see if you were lusting after like a shelby gt 500 or a lamborghini diablo roadster (0-60 in 2.3 secs.) but that doesn't seem like that great of a car. IMO.

lightningmetal666 08-17-2005 01:14 AM

The computer is pretty good at shaking you off too, especially if you play as the safety a lot (like I do).

And it depends on how good the QB is...like, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady can see half the field at a time, while worse QBs like J.P. Losman, A.J. Feeley, Trent Dilfer, Rex Grossman, Alex Smith, etc., can only see one reciever at a time.

That's cool, because we all love overexpensive cars with outrageously high insurance rates and are at higher risk to be stolen.
Who plays guitar?
A lot of us do, myself included. Also, watch the double post.

Oh ya, btw Illmatic, how's that Superstar mode? It sounds sweet, but It'd be nice to hear an un-biased review..

It's kinda lame, actually...it's funner randomly selecting your parents (they have specific mental and physical traits you can inherit, which determines what position you should play) than it is to actually go through the rest of Superstar mode...if it had things like, "Remember when that guy in your posse stabbed someone outside of a nightclub in October? In order to ease the PR damage, you have been traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars" and, "You have been busted with cocaine. Even though you have been acquitted, you are checked into rehab and suspended for four games", and if you could hold out, it would be cooler, but I really wouldn't invest too much time in it.

****..ahh well i'm sure it'll be built on in future games.

Pretty much everyone except me, don't double post in the future.

evilmenhavenosongs 08-17-2005 04:00 AM

Does anybody happen to know how much it's going to hurt if I drink with a sore throat? And what would hurt the least?

Six Foot Revolver 08-17-2005 04:07 AM

I am guessing that plain old water would be your best bet. Either that or maybe milk.

Bartender's gone? Why did no-one tell me!

Good morning all.

I was rudely awakened at 9am today, but didn't mind. Why?

Because the installation man came round to install Sky+. The 160 gig version too. Which =

(for those who don't know what it is, it's Sky TV [cable to you Yanks] with the ability to record programs whilst watching another, pausing live TV, rewinding TV etc... don't Americans have something like that called Teevo?)

Also, this is upsetting: having been perscribed a bunch of medicine-y stuff, I am very, very, VERY tired. But I can't sleep. I was yawning the whole day, I could barely see from tiredness (blurry-vision), and when I got to bed, I lay there staring at the ceiling for four hours not being able to sleep. I slept for an hour then, and then woke up again. Moved downstairs. Slept for an hour on the couch. Was then woken up. Bah. I can't sleep because I cannot switch my brain off, I am constantly thinking without being able to stop it. And you know what? The medicines are meant to STOP me thinking.

So, to recap, the medicines that are meant to make me be able to switch off at nights so I can sleep, haven't fulfilled their function, BUT they make me very tired. So I'm more tired than usual but still not able to sleep.

Boy, does it suck. :(

Bartender went on a month holiday (I think) and he is due back soon.

I have played around with my dad's etc. and it doesn't seem anywhere near as cool as it sounds.

I discovered that Ribena coats your throat with sugar or something and helps though.

Are you on anti-biotics? If yes, don't drink alcohol.

If it's just a sore throat, you may want to shy away from the stronger spirits, just because it might iritate your sore throat a little more. I imagine beer and wine aught to be fine, though.

evilmenhavenosongs 08-17-2005 04:24 AM

Nah, no antibiotics, just painkillers but I took some this morning and won't be taking any the rest of today. I should be fine, thanks guys. :)

Unless I have AIDs. :shifty:

GurS 08-17-2005 04:27 AM

I hate sore throats :(

I have a really low natural immunity system, so I get throat/chest/ear infections every few months, ever since I was a widdle baby.

I tried echanacia. It worked, but I lost the bottle :(

evilmenhavenosongs 08-17-2005 04:29 AM

I get tonsilitus every year without fail and I get colds easily which are pretty bad seeing as my nose is broken making it a weird shape. It sucks. :( I'm a disease riddled person in general. At least they're going to fix my nose in october though, I have to have splints, black eyes, everything.

GurS 08-17-2005 04:31 AM

I'm quite proud to say that I've never broken any bones, except a few toes (but the average person breaks something like 6 toes a year without realising it).

I did put my arm through a glass door once, though. I got a neat scar :D

Also several concussions. I'm the only person I know who ran into an AUTOMATIC door.

evilmenhavenosongs 08-17-2005 04:35 AM

So I've broken my toes before? Like when you stub them and it really hurts but it heals back to normal? Cool. i dropped a laptop on my toe when I was little and wanted to play Funschool 7, it went blue and everything.

I've got a scar that I got from an air-bed. Beat that. :p I've had concussion from falling off a rope in a park, that wasn't fun.

Yeh, you've broken toes before. Normally when you stub them, yeh.

Funschool 7? Score.

And I don't know what an air-bed is :)

evilmenhavenosongs 08-17-2005 05:11 AM

It's like an air filled mattress.

Oh God, I want to play Funschool 7 now...

GurS 08-17-2005 05:14 AM

I remeber a game from my childhood. It had a frog. You had to guide him to the cinema, then the post office, then the grocery shop.

I also played Doom a lot during my child hood.

Doom seires > Quake series > Halo series.

evilmenhavenosongs 08-17-2005 05:18 AM

I liked Doom, I liked Quake better though, i think it was Quake 4 I had... Unreal Tornament owned all though. Now I really want to shoot things. :upset: And it turns out Google doesn't know what Funschool is. It used to come on floppy disks  man that's a long time ago.

Was funschool what I'm refering to?

/scratches head in thinking.

Did it a feature a frog quite heavily? And a different version has a robot?

I've never played Unreal Tournament :(

Goldeneye = best console FPS I've ever played (though I never played Perfect Dark). Turok 2 comes a close second.

N64 = best console EVER.
