Oh that super guttural thing. Yeah I'm not a super huge fan of that, it can be funny sometimes though like on Croakies and Boatshoes. Tommy's growl has gotten so much better than it used to be.

God yeah, I was listening to the first album in my car the other day and within like the first minute and a half of More Of Myself To Kill I hear that god-awful rrrgrgrrgrggrgrgrgrg and think "Why the hell have I never noticed that before? It's terrible" so I put Colors on and appreciated how much better he's gotten. Although the bit in More of Myself to Kill from about 1:30 onwards is epic as hell to rock out to in your car to the bemusement of the roadworkers standing 4 foot from your car.

Yeah, Blackwater park is probably a good starter. Sure was for me, took me some weeks to "get" them but when I really heard The Drapery Falls everything clicked for me. They've definitely been the most influential band for me. Åkerfeldt's such a genious, Everything he touches becomes awesome.

i'd say ghost reveries is my favorite, their best album in my opinion, but blackwater park is also great. probably their second best album in my opinion.

I wasn't as immediately blown away by Ghost Reveries like I was with Blackwater Park but damn is it a good album, Ghost of Perdition and Harlequin Forest especially.

... and Baying of the Hounds, Grand Conjuration, Isolation Years. Ghost of Perdition's also a masterpiece. I love that album. Bah, I should just say I love all there albums.

Clean break. It's the outer bone in my arm w/e it's called. I'm in a splint right now to keep me from moving my arm around and I'll be getting called back in within the week most likely for my cast, once the swelling goes down a bit.

Katatonia's "Night is the New Day" is pretty good and there's no growling. But some of the songs aren't particularly heavy. Mastodon's "Crack the Skye" is ****ing epic too with minimal growliness.

How is everyone?

Happy with my new PC, not happy with searching for a job. Spending most my spare time researching how to set up my home network the way I want, ripping my DVD collection (some where around 300 DVDs) to my computer so I can stream them through my Xbox360/PS3 from my computer using Tversity (awesome program), and playing Modern Warfare 2 with my friends on my 360.


... yeah that sums up my life as of late.

I can't connect to IWNet, so atm I'm working through story mode on Veteran. Great game, story was too short imo. I'm unhappy with my PC, I would love to upgrade but money needs to go elsewhere. 3rd year Uni sucks.

Yeah, I know Mastodon, they're cool. I quite like Katatonia's "The Great Cold Distance" album, haven't checked out too much else of theirs.
