I would say these are an exception rather than a rule

idk I just like analogue synth stuff like Klinik, Die Form, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, these are the classic EBM groups to me it probably hit a peak around the late 80's and early 90's, somewhere after that it just seemed to get really stale with futurepop and the like and at best EBM albums never seem to be particularly great but manage to be just okay
