slipknot would never go on the simpsons because they always made music for themselves and never for money like st.'tallica .nu-metal sucks.
If they made music for themselves then why do they need a gimmick to attract audiences :amaze:

justine_hammett 09-27-2005 12:39 PM

RIP Cliff

Aberrationbass 09-27-2005 12:49 PM

why not use a gimmick its quite hard to seperate your selves these days
as well as that people need to eat and pay the bills

Joe 09-27-2005 12:50 PM

rest in peace cliff burton

check my away: gocaps99

oh and to the guy asking about jackson guitars. mine does not bend well at all and it is an incredible pain in the *** to change strings on a lock tuning tremolo (floyd rose?) and so it's not worth getting that. mine needs to be completely restrung, i need to fix the trust rod, and i need to clean off the fretboad completely and then i'll see how it is

PepsiMetal 09-27-2005 01:05 PM
hey!

metallica are going to be on the simpsons! what a laughable band, especially for going on a show that's reached the depths of awfulness. stop listening to this nu-metal commercial rubbish, and listen to slipknot or in flames.
They're not nu-metal. If you think metallica is nu-metal, then you know nothing about music.

Joe 09-27-2005 01:06 PM

Especially since he said listen to slipknot if you don't want nu-metal.

There is nothing nu-metal about Metallica expect the absense of solos
What time is metallica supposed to make their yellow skinned debut?
I'd not sure but I would love to see it.

Cool take on metallica as the simpsons. Kirk looks the coolest, Lars wtf?

fatbandit 09-27-2005 01:23 PM

Where's Jason's chin...?

I wasn't mocking the gimmick. I was just responding to the guys comment, he said that they 'made music for themselves'.

Jev 09-27-2005 01:58 PM

Hey guys you do realise Stevie's being sarcastic?

Joe 09-27-2005 01:59 PM
Hey guys you do realise Stevie's being sarcastic?
Had a hunch...

WP - Fade to Black! of course

NP - Trapped Under Ice? I thought I had this on random...

Jev 09-27-2005 02:00 PM

Father Jack did you ever get that Punk Tribute to Metallica album?

Stevie 09-27-2005 02:30 PM

I'm not being sarcastic. I just like playing around with the Metallica thread from time to time.

Kyle 09-27-2005 02:40 PM

Darkness 09-27-2005 05:00 PM

RIP Cliff

GenuineImitation 09-27-2005 05:31 PM

RIP Cliff, you were truelly a great bassist.

Thor 09-27-2005 05:58 PM

This seems fitting, so I'll say it.

RIP thrash age Metallica

Darkness 09-27-2005 06:33 PM

This is more about the human being Cliff burton, then a bands era of music. Cliff was an all around great person, and his bass playing skills were great, but we should try to remember him as a person rather then Metallicas bassist. Wasn't there a site like www.cliffburton.de or something along those lines dedicated to him? I remember reading a bunch of stuff on it a while back.. he seemed like an awesome person, and he hated being called a rock star.

ExplorerStudioYellow 09-27-2005 06:55 PM

Its a shame Cliff died before metallica Became huge.

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Here's a rhetorical question: Are you half-retarded? I put my life on the line when I say the ONLY reason Metallica became huge is because of Cliff Burton. He saved them talented fools from playing cover songs. And it's not a shame he died...He's laughing at them

Britton 09-27-2005 07:31 PM

that was a little over the edge...

RIP Cliff you're my hero!

I played pulling teeth in memory of him.

No they became really popular and huge after the Black Album. He did great things for Metallica, but he's not necessarily the reason they are popular (don't get me wrong, he impacted them enormously)
I played pulling teeth in memory of him.
I played... that, his last solo (basically pulling teeth), all of MOP, RTL, and KEA today several times...

I'm sorry, Metallica had so much talent and threw it away. Probably one of the worst turns in metal history. hmmmmm I think CLIFF was a gigantic factor in that one.   If he was alive, he'd bltchslap James, Lars, Kirk and Jason.

What if Iron Maiden started playing garbage? They wouldn't be the greatest metal band ever would they? And yes, they are. Same style, Same genre, Same Lyrics. If it's not broke DON'T FIX IT!

You don't really get it do you, Metallica had so much talent and CLIFF DIED. They didn't throw it all away, as far as I'm concerned when it comes to guitar and drum skills ...AJFA is their best album.

Iron Maiden's largest influence with the most knowledge of music theory didn't die in a bus accident, buddy.

Kaiwaz 09-27-2005 07:56 PM
...AJFA is their best album. .
That's your opinion. That album has no bass, and cliff wrote most of it. Metallica got famous by stealing another bands songs to make their own. Oh and that twin lead you think Metallica came up with was not a debut. Iron Maiden started that. And I'm not your buddy.

Joe 09-27-2005 07:59 PM

Twin Lead? Name a metal band that doesn't twin lead. I never credited with Metallica for creating that. That album has no bass, hence the:

And about Cliff writing most of it, what's your point? Yes, he was in the band. He wrote most of the TLITD riffs and the poem in the middle, everyone knows that. He obviously didn't write all the riffs otherwise he would have his name in all of the credits.

Deth 09-27-2005 08:00 PM

My god Flynn, stop arguing with opinions.

Been a while since I posted in here.
