No, really, I have nothing to go on, but, how much I like a band's music, and, maybe, how nice they are to me at a gig. Really, there's something about the look in their eyes (yes, am talking mostly of Blake and Grutle, now). It's something that says, 'Oh, I guess, you just figured out about this music, now...well, rock on, freak child, and, yea, I may have your entrails for dinner'. I never checked them out before because I thought it'd be one of those 13-in-a-dozen-nsbm bands. Turns out they're not even affiliated with that crap, and the music's really great. I really like the production on this album too.

Yeah, if you like that album, you'll probably like everything they've done.

They haven't strayed much.

My favorite is Frulingserwachen, but they're all awesome.

I'm kind of bummed, because the new album is going to have a new vocalist on it (the guy from Graupel, another awesome band), because Iblis was fucking intense. We'll see if the new guy can pull it off.

trust me i would give garm a double fisted handjob if he wanted me to but even he can't save arcturus from being so lame. and let's be honest his involvement with them was not really too great it's not like he wrote the songs himself or anything.

Their mega-fans are terrible too, people who hype them only because they're so "original" or because they associate the difficulty of music as the main insignia of quality.

Arcturus is interesting, only really enjoyable in small doses imo.

They are like Opeth for me. They were one of those bands I loved when I was getting heavily into music 7 years ago and I respect them and all that shit but I probably will never listen to them again.
