They kicked him out for sucking, got a new one, then hired him again later because you can't even hear the bass in AC/DC songs anyways.

/that may or may not be true

RockAndRoll 07-10-2005 06:21 PM
Actaully i don't think that Clapton really used wah, he just figured out how to distort by using on amp to pre-amp the signal then use another to amp it, kinda like the pre-amp, master-vol knobs on todays amp. I'm pretty sure Jimi either was the first to use wah or picked up the idea from somone other then Clapton.
That's nice, but you're wrong. He did use wah. He wasn't the first but he did use it.
Eric Clapton first played wah-wah with Cream on "Tales of Brave Ulysses" on the Disraeli Gears

Back to music , Ive got a Question , for anyone who knows , what happened to AC/DCs first bass player , i dont play bass , but i always wondered what happened to him.
It's always been Cliff Williams hasn't it?

I think you're talking about the drummer.

Phil Rudd was their best one, in my opinion.

There's an AC/DC thread wandering around here somewhere, they should have more answers than us.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 07-10-2005 06:26 PM

Hendrix was the first building block for metal. (IMO)

No , there was a bass player before cliff (trust me , i know most of my AC/DC , look at my user name) , but i will try and find an AC/DC forum or start one , Thanks for the info.Phil was the best drummer in my opinion too.

Don't make a new one, whatever you do.

There's already one floating around and you'll be banned.

That's for the AC/DC thread.

I just got back from the Chicago show. EW&F=teh suck, but Chicago was good. They would've been better had they played at the proper volume, I couldn't even hear some of the guitar solos.

Glitterati 07-10-2005 09:47 PM
Hendrix was the first building block for metal. (IMO)
I'd agree, because of his use of distortion.

You know who I don't hear enough talk about here? The Kinks and Janis Joplin.

np: The Doors - Riders On The Storm

BludgeonySteve 07-10-2005 10:27 PM

The Kinks are alright. Janis Joplin is alright too, better with Jefferson Airplane than solo.

Riders on the storm is awesome.

/there's my lazy late night commentary.

It absolutely nothing like the later stuff, pretty much a different band.
What is Pink Floyd - the piper at the gates of dawn like?

No. Much more Avant Garde, more acid induced, much worse sounding, lacks of all around songwriting effort but on the plus side it's with Syd Barret who is a drug guy.

umm yeah.

Has a few good songs, Bike is cool.

clown_phobia 07-10-2005 10:44 PM

Can someone upload some greatful dead stuff?

BludgeonySteve 07-10-2005 10:45 PM

ask badmoon, he will spend 5 hours giving you albums and talking about the grateful dead.

brettberry 07-10-2005 10:46 PM
