it's growing on me for sure. i'm listening to it more and more. mainly because cove from saosin and chino moreno make a couple guest spots.

Dimmu Burger 08-21-2008 07:02 PM

Saosin is meh.

Permanent Solution 08-21-2008 07:02 PM

I liked it alright on first listen...and I don't like any of their other material so I was fairly surprised.
Saosin is meh.
meh, i like em. some of the songs on their selftitled are definitely skippable though. their drummer is like... at a musical plane 1 step higher than the rest of the band.

Dimmu Burger 08-21-2008 07:04 PM

Sounds like power chords and high pitched singing to me. I'm suprised so many people like them honestly.

Permanent Solution: It is different from their past material, much more melodic so I can understand liking it more. I like the old stuff a lot too though, its just cold and mechanical sounding.

Permanent Solution 08-21-2008 07:05 PM

I like my music melodic, I'm a pussy =)

Saosin is good, but the EP is overrated.

Dimmu Burger 08-21-2008 07:11 PM

Nothing wrong with that. Chino is good on the new Dance Gavin Dance album as well.

Currently doing some research on the Sweden/Finland/Norway trip me and some friends wanna take after graduation, shit looks like it'll cost around 3k each person, but should be worth it.

Tyr 08-22-2008 01:10 AM

You're planning a trip to Scandinavia? Cool.

Angmar 08-22-2008 01:12 AM

Yup, got a friend with family in Oslo and always had an interest in traveling there myself. Do you know how much a couple week train pass to travel around those three countries would run for per person?

Tyr 08-22-2008 01:16 AM

Check out this site:
http://www.interrailnet.com/

There might be other options, but I'm not sure.

Angmar 08-22-2008 01:19 AM

Damn that ain't cheap haha, oh well, cheaper than taking planes everywhere.

We plan on flying into Stockholm, Austin thinks he might wanna go to, we could always pop in and say hi Bjorn. :)

Tyr 08-22-2008 01:23 AM

Yeah, it's pretty expensive. Be prepared, Norway's the most expensive country I've ever visited.

If I'm in town, we should definitely meet up.

Angmar 08-22-2008 01:26 AM

I was reading online that to get by you would need to spend a minimum of $75 a day for a Europe backpacking trip, I figure I wanna plan on spending $100 a day so I have a nice cushion to be prepared for whatever.

Tyr 08-22-2008 01:33 AM

I haven't backpacked in a long time, so I'm not up to date on the prices, but it seems reasonable. And a cushion is something I'd highly recommend. You never know what might happen.

Angmar 08-22-2008 01:37 AM

Have you ever taken the ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki? I'm thinking doing that would be the best way to jump start the trip after landing in Stockholm and spending a few days there, then looping around Finland and Norway, exploring Sweden and then coming back to Stockholm for the flight home.

Tyr 08-22-2008 01:46 AM

I have taken the ferry lots of times. It's a popular drinking trip, going back and forth. I think that's a really good way to start the trip, since Finland is a bit inaccessible by train and you might just want to go through the northern part once. So starting in the south and working your way counter-clockwise seems like a good idea.
