Mastodon isn't anything different from any other metal band.

Like I don't see how someone can be like "MAN, MASTODON IS SOOO DIFFERENT". They sound like Metallica with a good drummer.

They're dangerously close to attaining a TMV-like fanbase which will really suck.

Good thing TMV acutally makes music that is different.

Where as Mastodon is just following the same metal trend that's been going on since '83.

The lack of proper guitar solos is refreshing. And their drummer's amazing. Not just good.

High on Fire, My Dying Bride, maudlin of the Well, Neurosis, Between the Buried and Me, Cryptopsy, Agalloch, Esoteric, etc.

Mostly metalcore and doom.

And Freud he isn't that amazing, he'd be better if the rest of his band didn't suck.

Nacho you are the kind of kid that would get a bass guitar in the face, if you went and saw Converge.

That's what I thought at first, but I listened some more and I found that they really were different and worth the hype. The drummer isn't just good, he's unique, you can tell a Mastodon song from any other just by Brann Dailor alone. I swear they're good!

so i hate mastodon because one time i spent twenty dollars on the special edition of levitahan, and i was so excited. then i listened to it, and i was just like ugh. i spent a month trying to like it.

and it's just so boring.
