Sorry to hear that man, hope everything sorts itself out :(

For some strange reason my rep has gone from 500 to 2000, what is going on?

Yeah I just read the thread now

<----Stars

GurS 08-15-2005 04:07 PM

I've been repped by ken, and it only went up by 100 or so :(

I was just reading that thread.

Her fiancee knows she has just about every STD on the planet, right? :p

Just kidding Spikey, if you ever read this.

I'm thinking about writing a second article, except it's hard to write good CR articles. The only ones that read my ELO article were the CR regs and a few others.

I'm thinking about writing one on Jeff Buckley, but it would end up probably worse than the ELO article, heh heh.

....Has anyone written anything on Neil Young?

Edit: Eh, I'll leave Neil to Livewired. He's a bigger fan.

Maybe I should write my second article on Stevie Ray Vaughan, seeing as my last thread didn't inform too much about his career or his music, it was just like "yeah, he's cool, thoughts?"

Shaft! 08-15-2005 05:21 PM

My girlfriend and I are doing this thing where she downloads something of my tastes, and I download something of hers.
I'm having to listen to Keith Urban. She'll be listening to Rage Against the Machine, though.
Whatever brings you closer, y'know..

So I went shopping with my dad. refl. He needed some tractor part, and he wanted to go to his hunting store, so I rode along, because Best Buy is about a block away from whee he wanted to go. I picked up The Odyssey by Symphony, which is proving to be quite an amazing album, even after only 2 songs. :p

EDIT: UKJake, I think he had DBJ edit our reps. If I had recieved 1,500 rep point from one person, that would mean that Ken would have 150,000 rep points, I've I'm doing my math correctly.

Lord Abortion 08-15-2005 06:43 PM

so...farming good where you are?

Yeah he did get DBJ to edit it

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-15-2005 06:48 PM

Psh, not this year. :p There's not hardly enough water, so everything is way dryer than it should be. Plus, our land is on an Indian reservation, which means that they basically have control of the little water we have, and I really hate to sound racist or anything, but they really have no clue what they're doing, and they show up half the time that they're supposed to, so everyone that has to get water really has to fend for themselves, which leads to lots of water stealing(zomg!) and such.

My dad told me a pretty funny/racist joke the other day. "What did Jesus tell the Indians right before he died?"

"Don't do anything until I get back." lofl

Riva 08-15-2005 06:56 PM

Hey, read my MNm thread, for those of you who haven't yet. I'm going to a lecture now.

Steerpike 08-15-2005 07:11 PM

Man, my spotlight on The Cars died in less than 24 hours without even making two pages of posts.

Come on, I write these things to get the rest of you to open up to new or underrated bands. But as of late, people seem to just be stopping into the thread long enough to vote for a favorite in the current poll and then bail.

Lord Abortion 08-15-2005 07:14 PM

sorry, I got distracted by the fact that Lord Tim from fucking Dungeon posted here!!!

Steerpike 08-15-2005 07:21 PM

I noticed that too, but at the moment, I didn't really have anything to say.

R&Mers suck at times. Cold, hard fact.

/me reads your threads

Lord Abortion 08-15-2005 07:38 PM

Good thing for the forums surely, having someone relatively famous and in an awesome band post here?

Steerpike 08-15-2005 07:39 PM
Good thing for the forums surely, having someone relatively famous and in an awesome band post here?
Can't argue with that.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-15-2005 07:40 PM

Hey, I read and commented on the band! That's a cut above "gg on teh thred," isn't it? :p I think your threads and Lunch's have been the two most helpful threads out of the series. Between the both of you, I've probably discovered at least 5 new bands that I really like. :)

Permanent Solution 08-15-2005 07:41 PM

We had a famous bassist post here at some point fairly recently too...I want to say from Atheist, but I think I'd be wrong.

MBS 08-15-2005 07:42 PM

Wait, a guy from Dungeon posted here? Link Plz.

At least we're making some progress.

I just wish more people would vote in the threads according to what they would like to get into instead of what they've already heard. And I wish more people would take advantage of all the different series out there. I mean, we give you write-ups, free uploads, and everything. But a lot of them end up dying in the water within a couple days.

Lord Abortion 08-15-2005 07:48 PM

yeah, I know, but some people are just ungrateful bastards...
I have a headache so am going to bed...
NP- dungeon- lost in the light

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-15-2005 07:58 PM

Well, there is a certain saturation point in the number of writeups we can all handle. I'm sure the threads would get much more attention if there were less of them. I'm hoping that the whole 'zomg series' thing was just a giant fad, and that soon, there will only be a few left, Hopefully one of the remaining ones will be yours.

Kingofdudes 08-15-2005 08:03 PM

The PF thread is attacked by St0nerz!

Steerpike 08-15-2005 08:04 PM

I'm sticking with mine. I think that Riva, Lunch, and myself just got everyone going on doing their own features. Some of the series have more focus than others, but I think the good ones will persist.

As for mine, I plan on sticking with it. It's frustrating that I've been doing this all summer and my threads still get fewer responses than "OMG!!! Head left Korn!!!" but I'm just going to keep on going.

I still remember that when I came here, no one was talking about groups like Savatage, Running Wild, Tarot, and Cathedral. Now, you're starting to see the names creep up more often.
