Shellac and nothing but (today) methinks. Albini's a wretch but he makes damm fine tunes.
Is the new one good? I haven't checked it out because everyone I've talked to said it sucks.

I like the new Tomahawk, I agree about the Patton/Denison thing, but I don't see how it sounds like Bungle.

Eliminator 07-02-2007 06:31 PM

the new one is good

Jawaharal 07-02-2007 07:00 PM

Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb
Opeth - Still Life

Yeah new Shellac is good. It's not fantastic, but it's Shellac, it's new and it's worth it.

New Tomahawk gives me Bungle vibes. It seems less a Tomahawk record than a failed attempt at streamlining Mr. Bungle.

Dinosaur Jr - Beyond

Listening to this for the first time. Seeing them on Friday. Sweet.

Boilermaker 07-03-2007 06:49 AM

XTC - Skylarking
Guided By Voices - Mag Earwig!

Picked these up in a used CD store in Boston. Looney Toons = best store ever. I would've gone crazy in there if I had more 10 dollars.

asymm 07-03-2007 12:10 PM

Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist
I'm surprised. I think it's pretty damned solid.

June of 44 - Tropics and Meridians
The For Carnation - s/t
Bedhead - Transaction De Novo

I like pondering my existence to "Moonbeams" by The For Carnation. Seriously, what a song. Best album closer EVER! The main guitar part in this song is so simple, but perfect. Fuck overly technical guitar playing. Fuck guitar solos.

YDload 07-03-2007 02:27 PM

silverstein filmed a music video in my town

i feel so dirty now

Finally, someone else that understands The For Carnation. Perfect description.

Air - Virgin Suicides OST

"Playground Love" makes me sleepy, in a good way.

pulseczar 07-03-2007 03:40 PM

That's the only Air song I've heard, I like it.

Method Man - Tical

wang masta flex 07-03-2007 03:53 PM

dude pulse you need to get Moon Safari (and Pocket Symphony)

Kyle 07-03-2007 04:25 PM

Virgin Suicides is ace though.

But yeah, Moon Safari is a great listen aswell.

wang masta flex 07-03-2007 04:43 PM

tbh i dont even have it. i should get on that

do you like it more than Moon Safari? i figured that was a safe bet for a first Air album. i think Pocket Symphony is my second favorite now, its really grown on me

Zmev 07-03-2007 04:49 PM

Moon Safari > Talkie Walkie > Pocket Symphony > Virgin Suicides OST > Premiers Symptomes > 10,000 HZ > Everybody Hertz > City Reading

Kyle 07-03-2007 05:04 PM

^I'm with that, only I prefer Virgin Suicides to Pocket Symphony.

wang masta flex 07-03-2007 05:09 PM

J'en perds la raison
Dans la mer du Japon

ATM 07-03-2007 05:31 PM

Talkie Walkie is better then Moon Safari, in my opinion.

wang masta flex 07-03-2007 05:41 PM

i feel like Moon Safari is a more cohesive album which makes it better to me

BringHomeTheBacon 07-03-2007 07:42 PM

Anxious 07-03-2007 08:57 PM
