Yeah, Q.T. has a great taste in music.
I also thought it was quite interesting how he used Surf Rock for the soundtrack of a Spaghetti Western type of movie like Kill Bill Vol. 2. It fits oddly well.
I rented some movies today.
What'd you get? Didn't you rent Being John Malkovich, like a week ago. I just saw that movie; it was pretty good. |
I've heard True Romance is good. I rented some movies today.
If you liked Pulp Fiction, I think you'll enjoy it. It does have quite a cast...and Elvis... |
I tried Being John Malkovich, didn't grab me. I'll try it again some other day.
I got Airplane! and Coffee & Cigarettes. |
I've been watching the Who Live 8 performance all day. Pete and Roger are still so badass.
|
Pete can still rock out after forty-odd years. Roger, too.
|
Roger's voice is still great. Tomorrow they're showing a bunch of the Live 8 performances uncut, commercial free, because so many people bitched about how they cut off stuff. 10-3 on Vh1, and 3-8 on MTV, I think.
|
Pink Floyd rock harder approaching seniority than most every other band ever does.
|
I listen to the mp3 of the reunion all the time.
|
That piece of surf music from Pulp Fiction? I love that piece. I'm listening to it right now.

"Miserlou" by Dick Dale :thumb:

misirlou by dick dale and his del-tones.
actually, didnt robert rodriguez score kill bill 1 for a dollar? and thats why tarantino guest directed in sin city for a dollar? something like that. eh. anyway, i liked the first's soundtrack more, though i love the reworking of the zombies' she's not there on the second. |
Didn't the RZA do Kill Bill Vol. 1's soundtrack?
|
Didn't the RZA do Kill Bill Vol. 1's soundtrack?
Most of it, I think. |
Also, I forgot to mention I rented This Is Spinal Tap. Anyone seen it?
|
Everyone has seen it.
|
Also, I forgot to mention I rented This Is Spinal Tap. Anyone seen it?
I went to get it last week and ended up getting The Return of Spinal Tap I was so lost... |
Yea, I think it's a little overrated though.
I prefer A Mighty Wind now that I've grown so sick of Spinal Tap. |
Airheads :naughty:
Funny movies. NP : FZ - Willie the Pimp |
I went to the Mighty Wind show. It was pretty cool.
|
Airheads is so bad it's good
np: Iggy Pop - Lust For Life. I saw an ad for an Iggy Pop Greatest Hits CD today. It was called, A Million In Prizes: The Best Of Iggy Pop. Made me laugh, briefly. |
I can't stand Iggy Pop for some reason :\
NP : I Am The Walrus |
Everyone has seen it.
I haven't. :upset: On a happier note Robert Plant tickets go on sale tomorrow. I'm pretty sure i'll go, seeing as how it's the closest i'll ever get to seeing Zeppelin live. |
I have decided that Quadrophenia fucking rules.

So did I, I'm still shocked at how good it is. I love how they incorporate a surfer rock sound with gothic-sounding riffs. Me thinks their name derivation: Tell-a-vision (i heard it in one of their songs) |

Airheads is so bad it's good
I saw that movie about 10 years ago, before I got all the rock references in it :o Steve Buscemi's in it though, and he rocks  |

I got the album a few months ago, I also love it.
|
Now that I think of it, did anybody here go to the "All for Paul Les Paul 90th Birthday Show" at Carnegie Hall three or four weeks ago?
|

The Who are playing right now!
VH1 or MTV their still playing old clips of LIVE 8. :D |
^Sweet
I just downloaded an N64 emulator and Mario 64 (See Video game forum). That's what I love about MX, free stuff or where to get free stuff. |
Link please?^
PINK FLOYD ARE PLAYING!!!! |
Link please?^
PINK FLOYD ARE PLAYING!!!!
I'd rather see the Who: I downloaded PF, but haven't seen The Who's preformance yet. |
Does anyone here like Rod Stewart? Maybe not his later albums, but you'd be suprised how much his early albums rock out. "The Rod Stewart Album" and "A Nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse" are his first and second, or something like that. He had an awesome band behind him, and it all sounds very raw and gritty (at least it does on vinyl), which is something you don't hear on on his latter albums.
|
Jethro Tull are playing a show near me! Lunch, we should go man!
Where is it? By the way, I've been in Frederick the past few days, it's an annoying drive from Annapolis. Jacaranda: No problem at all, glad you enjoy them. |
i like a bit of rod stewart but i also hate many songs by him, free are the greatest band ever in my opinion n i'm 16 i like more older bands like led zep the who king crimson and obvisouly compared to this crappy genre stuff i hate most metal stuff, anyone got a favourite classic rock guitarist, mine is paul kossoff
