Win A Rabbit 04-29-2006 04:31 PM

well i just helped to build the deck for a solid 4 hours. i'm exhausted. it's so hot outside. we got a good 1/3 of it done.

me and 2 guys are working on the deck, and 2 are working on the stairs. we came in for food and i'm debating on going out or not. my dad kept telling me that this is my weekend and i don't need to help, but i don't want to act spoiled and just sit there and watch them work on it. i'd much rather go downstairs and play drums for a few hours, but the deck seems like more of a nice thing to do.

Drum Phil 04-29-2006 04:36 PM

Reccomend me some nice versatile snares to look into please. These are for the future so heres what i need in a snare:

A nice pop with the albility to give a huge crack.
Wood/Vintage hoops
Wood snare, not metal
13" preferably.

Seeing as this is the peice of my kit that see's a lot of abuse, i aint gonna skimp on it.

mysticalyeti 04-29-2006 04:46 PM

Not that I have a ton of experience with it, but the Akira Jimbo sig is 13x7 with wood hoops... pretty sexy piece of drum.

Janeway 04-29-2006 04:47 PM
There was a context. They were talking about mixers..

Oh yeah.. judging by JUST last page, no one really cares what you say. Maybe it's a sign.
Oh. I'm sorry.
Was that supposed to hurt?
Try harder.

Drum Phil 04-29-2006 04:47 PM

Yeah i was looking at that one. My local shop stock a few yamaha signature snares. I was looking at the steve gadd one as well. And of course the musashi.

We_Love_Lime 04-29-2006 04:50 PM
Yeah i was looking at that one. My local shop stock a few yamaha signature snares. I was looking at the steve gadd one as well. And of course the musashi.
The 12x5? Or whatever looks good.

I find that my current 10x6 snare gives a good pop sound, so maybe the Musashi will do as well.

Also Oak is notorious for it's loudness.

So I think If you crank that sucker up, you get the both of both worlds.

Including a groove wedge.

Drum Phil 04-29-2006 04:52 PM

I was lookin at the 13" model so no groove wedge for me :( They dont have the 12" in store but im gonna nose at that again asap.

mysticalyeti 04-29-2006 04:55 PM

Well, I've heard that thing gives a hell of a crack

Berk 04-29-2006 05:06 PM

Awesome Video.

We_Love_Lime 04-29-2006 05:09 PM

Whose Derek Roddy drum for?

Janeway 04-29-2006 05:13 PM

His accent made me giggle.

Motleyguy 04-29-2006 05:13 PM

Dare I say, I met Our Lady Peace last night. It was the most amazing concert ever, and the fact thatI met the band, makes it even more awesome. Oh, and seeing them kick my ex girlfriend off the stage, when they asked if someone wanted to sing 4 AM, made it even better. Then I met OLP, hell yes...awesome!

Tyr 04-29-2006 05:16 PM

Hate Eternal (recently quit)
Nile (on the black seeds of vengeance album)
Malevolent Creation

We_Love_Lime 04-29-2006 05:21 PM

Interesting.

I've heard a lot of him. But never knew what he did.

He's not on DrumWorld.

Janeway 04-29-2006 05:24 PM

Hate Eternal.
I found their discography off megaupload and listened to one album.
It was awful.

Berk 04-29-2006 05:56 PM

He's one of my favorite metal drummers.
I always thought he used Tama. Friggin lugs!

White 04-29-2006 06:24 PM

Argh, I sooooo wanna shoot my friends (RANT ALERT!)

First I (as in me and only me) walk for two hours to sign them up for hour ball hockey tournament this year. and I (as In Me and Only me) paid 5$ a person it came up to 30$ for ME!/

Then, I am the one who has to play goalie, so I was upset, because you know i did allt he work and they are treating me like crap. But I decide to be cool about it and agree.

Then all day I just get oout voted on purpose like say we are voting on what color our jersey should be and I say black and white (what we had previously agreed on) and then everyone was like, now I don't think we should do that, do you? and then they make it purple. ya, no biug but its annoying as **** to put up with it all the time.

Then, today when we were just playing for fun my friend slashed my hand so (just jokingly) I throw the stick away laughing, but it broke when i did that. so ya, now we are a guy short and they all refuse to just use another stick and they just start freaking out, and Im confused as hell. Because its a stick people. And then they dropped out of the tournament (well they said they did and they called up another person to play for them, but I have all the goalie gear so since you knwo I did allt he work for them to paly/paid for them and my mom got us all on one team Im just gonna be a dick to them and not give it to them,

No im not some little loser kid, Im usually the only responsible person so they left it all up to me, and ya, Im just pissed at them right now.

:smash:
The only pedal boards that have not snapped on me yet have been my Iron Cobras. The only problem I have had with them in 4 years has been a bent chain.

PandaDrummer 04-29-2006 06:49 PM

ugh blast beats are horrific

poor derek roddy
caught up in all that terribilities

EDIT: how the hell do you BREAK?! a pedal board?

Berk 04-29-2006 06:52 PM

Misuse?

Futuro 04-29-2006 06:56 PM
EDIT: how the hell do you BREAK?! a pedal board?
Ugh put foot on it?

White 04-29-2006 07:00 PM

lol, But pedal boards are pretty strong, you must kill the drum when you hit it haha, how many heads do you break?? lol, jk

Futuro 04-29-2006 07:07 PM

Bass heads? Not many. The remo patch prevents breakage.

ThugsRook 04-29-2006 07:11 PM
The only pedal boards that have not snapped on me yet have been my Iron Cobras.
na, i didnt break the boards. i broke the beater holder and the hoop clamp on my right pedal. i didnt even realise the hoop clamp broke til the beater flew off and i looked down.

:(

White 04-29-2006 07:13 PM

ok lol, I was wondering there, yah it does break but after 3 days I was gonna say, technique? lol. Also, ya, My Snare should GARENTEED be here monday, its been 4 weeks and that guy is to slack *** he sent it a week after he got the money. Argh

Berk 04-29-2006 07:38 PM

You seriously have to post pics.

PandaDrummer 04-29-2006 07:42 PM

UGH I want it SOOO MUCH!

only $1,300

if only I had money, I could sell my current kit but id prob only get 300 for it mabey... prob not even that much...
Why can't all the (illegal) mexicans leave so I can get a job?

Berk 04-29-2006 07:44 PM

That kit is SO sexy. 20''x20'' FTW
Wasnt phil supposed to buy a Diode?

PandaDrummer 04-29-2006 07:49 PM

yeah, he's thinking about it, the diode's sizes are to large for my taste, but the 12,14,16,20,13 are perfect for me.
id replace the stock snare w/ my spaun

ugh, id probably get those cymbals.
that picture is basically how i want my setup exactly

Berk 04-29-2006 07:52 PM

Same finish or different?

not fishbulb 04-29-2006 08:09 PM
Bass heads? Not many. The remo patch prevents breakage.
The falam slam pad? That thing rocks.

And to panda, that's $1300 without cymbals, correcT? That finish is dank.

White 04-29-2006 09:20 PM

Not fishibulb. Fishbulb?

Double Bass Jim 04-29-2006 09:23 PM

Bass drum patches you say? Evans AF... strong and doesnt rob the drums tone.

PandaDrummer 04-29-2006 09:24 PM

to not fish bulb, yeah anaheim orange, its a beautiful color, and the cymbals are not included

Win A Rabbit 04-29-2006 11:16 PM

well i was bored so i set my 13" tom up on the left side of my hats, where my aux. snare usually goes. figured i'd try it out, see if i've got any practical use for it there. it's still got stock heads on it, so i'm going to have to try to tune it up as well as i can tomorrow and play around with it. i like the symmetrical look of having a tom on each side, and one in front.

perhaps i'll have to buy new heads for it if it work out. too late to play around with it now, though.

Futuro 04-29-2006 11:18 PM
Bass drum patches you say? Evans AF... strong and doesnt rob the drums tone.
Got a bunch of white crap on my feet

EDIT: Nevermind I just googled it. Never used it. I had one from Evans that tore up my felt beaters.
