Special Brew 11-15-2005 11:42 PM

Hey SD, awhile back we had a short discussion about deathcore and you named a few bands for me to check out, including Animosity, who I instantly fell in love with. I can't seem to find the post, so would you mind renaming some guys I should check out? I already now Bodies in the Gears and Despised Icon. so no need to name them.

If the bands are borderline grindcore, that's fine too.

I would if I had the night off. I'm not as hardcore as some people to quit for a show :p

Special Brew 11-16-2005 12:02 AM
Makes sense.

I asked you before, but when exactly did you get modded? :amaze:

Was it at the same as Simple Plan and Morrissey over in The Pit?
I just realized I said "Simple Plan" instead of "Simple Man"

haha...

Yup, Ayat AKrass is very good. I checked out The Binary Code's Purevolume and didn't like it too much. The songs seem to be just big collages of breakdowns, which bores me after awhile. It seems they are broke up or something as well according to the text on the PV page. They are one of those type of bands that I would love live, but wouldn't be able to get into them on recording.

http://www.purevolume.com/thebinarycode - For anyone that wants to check 'em out.

SubtleDagger 11-16-2005 03:26 AM

They kind of got worse over time.

I haven't been listening to much of that stuff lately. Been busy with ambient music and emo and folkcore and all kinds of weird stuff.

Special Brew 11-16-2005 03:43 AM

Please tell me what you mean by folkcore. Against Me! type stuff maybe? O.o

SubtleDagger 11-16-2005 04:02 AM

No, I'm just using it to describe Rosa and Ghost Mice since I have no clue where else they'd go.
Wy does Sage Francis suck?

I just don't like the gangster stuff. "

Let's get hoes and spend money and shoot heroin while calling each other niggaz, the word which no white man is allowed to utter."
The only reason why Sage Francis is big at all is because he's on Epitaph, so all these pop-punk kids listen to him so they can tell themselves they're into underground political hip-hop. He's just not good at all.

TakeWarning 11-16-2005 07:25 AM

My favourite rapper = Jedi Mind Tricks

Beneath Dying Skies 11-16-2005 09:45 AM

eh im currently listening to ludacris. i used to HATE rap and hip-hop and such, but a few acts such as xreignofterrorx and weerd science really opened the doors for me. i was like hrmm this isnt so bad after all and now i listen to a lot of rap and hip hop along with metal, hardcore/metalcore (obv., or else why would i be here?), portuguese music, screamo (not poppunk with screaming, the real stuff such as orchid) and many more things

Special Brew 11-16-2005 11:55 AM

People shouldn't hate certain artists because of the other fans they have. That's just dumb.

I know what you mean though, and it is annoying.

I totally agree. I've never understood the big deal with Sage Francis. If I want pseudo-underground hip-hop endorsed by obnoxious punk rockers, I'm listening to Atmosphere.

And Shane, Three Six are amazing. Back in my skater days, Three Six was in heavy fucking rotation.

Special Brew 11-16-2005 01:18 PM

I don't like Sage Francis because he is underground, because he isn't. I like his lyrics and his voice. Atmosphere is alright too, as is Hollywood Undead. i've listened to some stuff like Aesop Rock and others, but I just couldn't get into them.

RetiredAt21 11-16-2005 01:29 PM

I don't like any rap really. I listen to Gym Class Heroes ocassionally, but that's about it.

Berserker! 11-16-2005 01:53 PM

I got a boyfriend,
Bitch stop lyin',
Dumbass hooka ain't nothin' but a dyke
Suddenly I see some niggaz that I don't like
Walked over to 'em and said 'wassup'
The first nigga that I saw; hit 'im the jaw
Ren started stompin' him and so did E
'Bout that time got rushed by security

NWA are better than any other rap artist

Special Brew 11-16-2005 01:55 PM

I hate lyrics like that. It's just stupid.

I don't think that they really like it for the lyrics, they just like the music and put up the lyrics so someone else who likes the song can relate.

Myself personally, I really can't listen to just about any rap, almost all of it bores me to tears.

Special Brew 11-16-2005 02:19 PM

Actually, alot of popular rap these days has been using almost jazzy music which sounds really good with the vocals. I think kanya West is one of the guys who does this. I'm not very sure on names. But anyways, that kind of rap sounds good, but I hate the sound of the "gansta" stuff.

SubtleDagger 11-16-2005 02:29 PM

I hate Kanye West though.
