How was your trip?
It was great. I had a total blast. My favorite days were spent hiking through the desert and going to the Desert Museum. I didn't do very much lovey-dovey stuff with my gf, though, but that's ok, because we spent tons of quality "friend" time together, which is even cooler. :)

Steerpike, I repped you because you're one of the best contributors to R+M's music awareness and you seem to have been overlooked in the star awards. Hope it goes a little ways. :) Where have you been by the way? I haven't seen you much lately.

EDIT: Thanks, leppermessiah.

Steerpike 08-15-2005 01:15 AM

That what now? Maybe it's just because it's late, but did I miss something?

Anyway, good to hear you enjoyed yourself over there. I always had you pegged for a Storgic lover (the type of person who believes the strongest love comes from friendship).

I've been kind of busy lately. My limited time and a lot of frustration has led me to go into overdrive trying to accomplish as many goals as possible in a short period of time. I'm starting up a cooking show on campus, my new Black Tiger magic deck is on the way, and I've gotten through the Complete Idiot's Guide to Music Theory. I'm trying to write more scripts, but I keep hitting all sorts of blocks. The result is starting a bunch of projects, but finishing none of them.

What do you mean?

Glad to hear you're keeping busy.

Steerpike 08-15-2005 01:18 AM

I just now found out about Ken's star thread thing. It's late, so I'm not all that sharp.

boy, have i been there.

Oh, that's ok. It IS quite late, I should be getting to bed, actually. Good night Alex, and guys. :)

EDIT: I've hit a block on page 9 of my novel, so I'm with you there. In addition, recording guitars for my power metal song is proving rather arduous.

Steerpike 08-15-2005 01:20 AM

I'll see you guys around. I need to turn in soon myself.

MBS 08-15-2005 01:22 AM

Yeah, congrats Cain on achieving "star" status.

... That was kinda clever, huh?

Even a jinx isn't ever going to make cricket interesting. :thumb:

One day cricket is good, but I find the test cricket really boring
Exactly.

She said she would wear anything that I bought her so I took full advantage of that.
I would have given her a gag gift of some sort first, before giving her the real thing, like a green goblin outfit.

Oh and coming sunday is a Chelsea vs Arsenal match, and i'm taking all bets

Lord Abortion 08-15-2005 09:06 AM

personally I would suggest a chelsea victory because of Arsenal's loss of Vieria and chelsea looking good in the community shield match

Usually I would agree, but these Ashes tests have been better than any one-dayer.

Lord Abortion 08-15-2005 09:25 AM

265-7

that's the game unless warne does something REALLY spectacular

See im really torn here, because while i am extremely partial to Arsenal, i have like 4 or 5 players from Chelsea on my fantasy football team, so i dont know where to go haha.

anyone who isn't watching cricket right now is an idiot

this is nearly the best sporting occasion I have ever seen, almost as good as the '99 champion's league final, england have 24 balls to take a wicket, australia's captian has just been given out and it's amazing...

Amazing stuff indeed. Although Edgbaston was slightly more tense I think.

*tension*
Oh, because I just got The Odyssey and it is amazing. I believe this is my new favorite metal singer.
He's god, he sounds exactly like what a power/prog metal singer should sound like according to my standards! My favourite Symphony X at the moment is the divine wings of tragedy :)

Lord Abortion 08-15-2005 12:17 PM

Bah...a draw...stupid australia, you all probably cheated in some way

stoic-did you get that symphony X uploaded?

I have heard alot about them but never anything by them

Holy crap, Ollie you are in for a treat. I'll upload some.

I uploaded a song off this particular album (divine wings of tragedy) a few minutes ago on the YSI thread.

Symphony X - Of Sins and Shadows

Steerpike 08-15-2005 12:28 PM

First song I ever heard by them was Egypt off of V - The New Mythology Suite. Great epic.

Permanent Solution 08-15-2005 12:38 PM

So I saw a used Stratovarious CD at the shop yesterday, but opted not to get it since I didn't know their music, was that a mistake? :-\

Moses 08-15-2005 12:41 PM

Okay YSI is sucking for me so I'll use rapidshare.

My first Symphony X song was "Of Sins and Shadows" I only have "Live on the edge of forever".

Moses 08-15-2005 12:43 PM

My first Symphony X song was Sea of Lies.
