ok that's a little stupid

edit:directed to the enter sandman confusion.

whatduffhuck7 09-23-2005 07:29 PM

you should shoot him

clairvoyant 09-23-2005 08:00 PM
the song was enter the sandman, he mistaken
Yes, Enter The Sandman.

Thats exactly how it goes.

Britton 09-23-2005 08:41 PM

That's pretty bad. I think Kirk is a fatastic guitarist, but he might need some direction.
My top 3 fav solo's are from the AJFA so I would have to disagree with that opinion.

One
Blackened
Title track 1 and 2

does anyone still want that old cover?

Title track 1 and 2?

Theres only one...

heavy metal kid 09-23-2005 11:56 PM

most of the best metallica's solos were written by D. Mustaine, altough the catchiest were written by Kirk.

I recently heard Sultans of Swing, by the Dire Straits, the last solo of that song have the same progression as Fade to Black last solo( vice versa).

Umm...you are completely wrong. Sultans of Swing is in a completely different key than Fade To Black.

Sultans=Dm
Fade=Bm

yes :upset: , i was a little confused on the vocabulary, my intention was that the solos sound alike ,is almost the same finger movement.

I only liked Kirk's solos for a handful of songs.
But that song with Santana is beautiful....

PepsiMetal 09-24-2005 12:45 AM

I just heard that song with santana, and I gotta say it was pretty **** good. Im assuming last solo/part was kirk's. I'd actually like to see kirk do a solo album. That would be pretty interesting. But then again it would be awesome if james did a solo album too.

fatbandit 09-24-2005 04:45 AM

I think James is more suited to solo material. He would easily be capable of recording something the same way Trent Reznor does, as he can play drums, bass, guitars and sing. All of them well.

Kirk may also be able to do this, but I've never seen it.

Ha... That was funny, it was so bad.

When did Mustaine leave?

Thor 09-24-2005 10:07 AM
When did Mustaine leave?
Before Kill Em All was released, so before 1983.

I'm pretty sure he left in 1983.

Jev 09-24-2005 10:23 AM

He was kicked out on April 11th 1983.

Finally I managed to buy the MOP guitar book and I can't stop trying to learn battery.
Interesting enough kirk's soloing style isn't too far from my own, but he has the ability to go from fast to slow back to fast. I, on the other hand, prefer to just shred 'till my fingers bleed. Or until someone gets bored of it, which ever comes first. ;)

I don't know why but I have this crazy obsession with buying guitar books from bands I really like. Slayer being the exception because ebay ppl really overcharge them and they're also hard to find being that they are out of print.

Jev 09-24-2005 11:55 AM

As much as I love Slayer I don't find learning their guitar appealing at all.
i liked metallica's older stuff better than there new (who doesn't?), but my favorite song out of all would be master of puppets.

i like how it goes from there normal stuff in that song, to nice and soft and slow, then to unique solo's

i also like enter sandman, its a preety well balanced song.

lets try to keep this thread alive
Yeah i realised it wasn't serious but he still can't sing, I mean I heard a version of Whiplash or something with him singing a verse and it was terrible.

Britton 09-24-2005 01:02 PM

A solo album by james would be awsome. Where is that santana/kirk song posted?
I couldn't get it to work...

I have a Kill E'm All tab book from 1986, it has blitzkrieg and am I evil on it.
But the lead guitarist has tempararly stole it from me...I also have AJFA
I get tab books at a sed book store called Half Price book

Jev 09-24-2005 01:04 PM

Just look on the Metallica site, I think it's on the player somewhere.
