Oh, I didn't know that was Jamie but I did think that whoever that poster was is annoying.
Thought we'd lost him for a minute there. :(

Miek 06-24-2006 05:09 PM

im just guessing

Yashnaheen 06-24-2006 05:09 PM

Im quite sure you are right.

SirSpamalot 06-24-2006 05:10 PM

sup guys

tried a valveking 212 today

I kinda liked it

but it wasn't perfect

Mars Volta 06-24-2006 05:10 PM

Yeah it must be Jamie, Nihongo has made 20 threads in 9 days.

What didn't you like about it?

It has some nice, warm 'clean' tones, but the rest was a bit meh to me.

SirSpamalot 06-24-2006 05:22 PM

I don't know wtf everyone was talking about how it's so warm and you have to crank the treble

I had my tone halfway down, volume down, neck pickup, and the treble turned down, bright switch off, and it was still peaking on me

I guess a compressor would solve that, but meh

the gain was pretty intense though

nothing special, but a lot better than I'm running now

Fretboardninja 06-24-2006 05:33 PM

SUp guys?

I was toying with the ideas of my future live rig and these are my two favorites so far... what do you guys think?

Rig one:
Guitar>ab-switch>

output one (cleans): podxt>roland jazz chorus
output two: peavey origional 5150 (not 5150II) into mesa oversized 412 with V30's

Or rig two:

Guitar>Poxt with floorboard>carvints100 power amp with a combo of two 6l6 tubes and 2 el34s>orange 212 birch cab loaded with clestian v30's

btw.. sup guitar forum community?

The first rig pwns simply because there's a JC involved.

The second rig unpwns simply because there's a POD involved.

So yeah, rig 1.

My future rig will probably be like Guitar > Boss CS-3 > Vox V847 > Boss LS-2 > EHX POG > Mesa Boogie Mark I
LS-2 "A" loop > Boss PH-3
LS-2 "B" loop > Ibanez TS9 > EHX Big Muff > Boss GE-7
or something. The Mark I and TS9 are the important parts here.

Nihongo_Forever 06-24-2006 06:21 PM

My dream rig:
1 of every model Ferrari ever made
A billion Fenders
A billion Gibsons
A billion Ibanezes
A billion Godins
A billion ESPs
A billion Jacksons
A billion Michael Kellys
A billion Martins
A billion Taylors
A billion Gretschs
A billion semi-hollow Epiphones
A billion of everything not mentioned
Every pedal by Radial, x300
Every amp, ever.
16 bisexual and hot at the same time females who have sex with me while I play guitar.

SirSpamalot 06-24-2006 06:23 PM

aiming high, are we now?

Miek 06-24-2006 06:25 PM

My dream rig-
ESP Eclipse VTB w/DiMarzio's
PRS Custom 24 whale blue w/HFS and Dragon
Laney VH100R and Laney GH100L
Mike Awesome sig Tele

Yashnaheen 06-24-2006 06:27 PM

Just for fun I guess -

Guitar > Tuner > Some sort of highly complex Skrydstrup Midi board, controller, looper setup > Eventide harmonizer, FireworX, Rack Wah, Amp switcher to a Mark IIC+ and a Dual Rectifier.

I seriously intend to do that in time.

Me! 06-24-2006 06:29 PM

Hey Jamie you asked about how maple is?

Well mah parker's maple, and it's pretty sweet. The leads are quite punchy and the rhythms are great. The cleans are absolutely killer, too. It's very responsive.

overturned 06-24-2006 06:30 PM

I like my stuff as it is, a Fender Tonemaster wouldn't go a miss though.

England v Ecuador game today, we best get through, although I aint got the best of feelings that we will. Still, theres plenty of hope.

SirSpamalot 06-24-2006 06:37 PM

while we're posting dream rigs I might as well have a shot

conklin custom 7 with full pickup switching and piezo/midi setup
hot looking carvin custom
swirled universe
sustainer jem
some kind of baritone, prolly one of the neat fender ones
vintage fender 12 string
fancy acoustic of some kind
fancy classical of some kind
prs hollowbody II
ES 335
thinline tele
some wacky creation with sympathetic strings and shi

top of the line midi interpreter for the synth
damn nice tuner
bbe sonic max
g-force mebbe

mesa road king combo with a 412 extension cab
fender pro reverb
carvin V3

a tubescreamer or 2 for boosts
EH hog
some kind of wah or two
talkbox
big muff
moog phaser/flanger
bbe compressor
all the wacky synth pedals I can get my hands on

everything has to be switchable from my custom pedalboard, and al supplied with power from super awesome conditioners

the amps mic'ed to hell and back in to the pro mixing system

Miek 06-24-2006 06:38 PM

I'm happy right now.
I just want an extension cab for my Laney

speaking of which, what would be a good one for it?

Sounds good.

In the meantime, 2 black people dressed in all black came to our door, asked to use our phone. My dad didn't let them in, they appeared to be scoping out the house. Now, seeing as they needed to use the phone so bad, they didn't come to another house, rather they went down to the lake behind our house and was eyeing our cars.

Scoping yeah?

Mike:
CARRRRVINNNNNN
Or Ashdown if you want 10s.

Miek 06-24-2006 06:44 PM

Just hold up a sign that says, "We're Body Builders with Knives!!"
That'll scare em away.

Actually, I think the next guitar I'll ever buy for a while is either Cpercefuls Agile, or an LTD viper.

What size?

I'd buy something that will compliment it.
GS112 for example.

Miek 06-24-2006 06:46 PM

Yeah, that would probably be best.
That or a 212.

There are at least 3 guns on each floor of the house, so I'm not worried.

Miek 06-24-2006 06:47 PM

I see.
I like my way more, but I'm kinda crazy.

like, the person that i think has the best sense of humor ever is Zappa, and I can relate totally, but that's prolly not hard to do.

Nihongo_Forever 06-24-2006 06:48 PM

Carvin has a 2x12 for like 250-280 with dual V30s, they also have a 112 version of it for 200.

The 2x12 with 70-80s is really cheap and good quality.

Their 4x12s=secks though.

If you want more low end though, Genz Benz G flex will own your family, you, and the entire planet Earth.

Miek 06-24-2006 06:49 PM

I see.
I do want the low end.
also, it iwll be nice becasue then i won't have to buy a new cab when i get my Laney head

Countdown to drunkenness has begun!

Miek 06-24-2006 06:53 PM

I don't want anything as expensive as the Bogner.
