If you like Athiest, be sure to check out Cynic. Download their album Focus (preferably the 2004 remix). Extremely technical death metal mixed with jazz fusion. Best songs: Veil of Maya, How Could I, I'm But a Wave to, Textures, Sentiments. Hell, more or less their whole album.

Oh yeah, Death would be an obvious choice to check out as well.

what the ****s up your ***? what did i give bad recomendations?

Meatshield 09-21-2005 08:52 PM

ok i'm dumb...but this is in the right thread now so bleh. anyway

i'm looking for some music that reflects pure ****ing aggression. Normally i listen to stuff like immortal, draconian, db, cradle, CoB, graveworm, cf, etc...and i love that stuff, but right now i need something with nothing but pure ****ing hate and aggression. any suggestions? i dunno why the hell i can't think of the right thing to listen to, wtf...

if you post slipknot i will eat your eyeballs.

btw, probably something death or thrash would be best...obviously...

Nostalgia 09-21-2005 11:58 PM

slayer
testament
overkill
pantera (have some slower more melodic stuff but still heavy)
kreator

any, thrash bands in the later 80's will do you fine.

RageAgainsttheBush 09-22-2005 02:10 AM

what cd is panteras slower stuff and im lookin for some lighter metal with some wicked guitar (none of that demonic ****)

Riva 09-22-2005 04:34 AM

Go for '70s speed metal, you will thank me later.

Stoic 09-22-2005 05:51 AM
I already have all of Niles albums, but I'll check out Wormed.

what cd is panteras slower stuff and im lookin for some lighter metal with some wicked guitar (none of that demonic ****)
I'd say reinventing the steel is as slow as pantera gets albumwise, and its still heavy as ****. There are a handful of mellow songs strewn throughout their work, which no doubt you've probably already listened to.

As for lighter metal, try a bit of dream theatre if you haven't already, petrucci is awesome guitarist but they mix genres a bit, are keyboard heavy and have a classically trained singer so if thats not your thing you might not like it. Anthrax has some classic songs and Megadeth if ya steering more towards the classic type of metal and Soilwork is pretty **** heavy yet with a light vibe in it as well thats not overly satanic so try that if ya haven't already.

HazMan 09-22-2005 08:16 AM

i'm looking for metal with keyboards

Every one of their cds has at least one slow song on it.

Dream Theater and Symphony X have impressive keyboards and are suitably metal.
