High Speed Dirt brings CTE down for me.
 I think that's one of the highlights! especially the bluesy part Marty does. |
i would say the highlights of that album are psycotron, symphony of destruction, countdown to extinction, and my personal favorite of the album ashes in youre mouth.
|
Possibly my favourite song off CTE is Architecture Of Aggression, I like Symphony Of Destruction a lot too.
|
My fave song from Countdown to Extinction is the title track. The chorus is a classic singalong. Saying that, I'm not a big fan of Countdown, it's one of my least fave 'Deth albums.
|
Is it just me, or does that song sound frighteningly similar to a Nirvana song?
(The alternative version does... ) |
It does? what Nirvana song?
Chris got slaughtered in the Guitarist poll, I'm not a happy man. |
I don't know.
Any Nirvana song really, what I'm getting at is the drawling vocals ("Endaaaaangers species caaaaaaaged in freight, shot iiiiiin cold blood no chaaaaance to fight") and the clean guitar banging out chords in the background. It's reminiscent of a Nirvana song, I just can't put my finger on it... |
Can't say I notice anything remotely Nirvana in the song.
All go vote for Marty in the Guitarist poll. |
Well, seems I'm the only one who doesn't like High Speed Dirt.
Pyschotron is good though. |

Vote Marty if you haven't already. High Speed Dirt, Ashes In Your Mouth, and Foreclosure are my favorites off of CTE. |
Skin 'O My Teeth, Architecture of Aggression, Countdown to Extinction, and Ashes in your Mouth are my favourites off CTE.
But does anyone think Ashes In Your Mouth could have easily been on Rust In Peace? The song just seems more progressive for CTE... |
I think daves vocals are the best in RIP,

So... about the Gigantour second stage:
To give you a glimpse at who was submitted and seem to be in the running, they are Dry Kill Logic, Diecast, Otep, Overkill, Pain of Salvation, Taproot and Mike Portnoy’s recommendation, Symphony X.
I really hope he throws out Taproot and brings Symphony X, Overkill, and Testament. |
Symphony X is the only one I would care to see. But the Main Stage makes up for that.
|
That would be great it is going to alot like the clash of the titans concert they had with slayer, testament, and sucidal tendancies.
|
Symphony X is the only one I would care to see. But the Main Stage makes up for that.
I'd see Overkill too of those. Shit Overkill and Symphony X could replace Fear Factory and Dillinger on the main stage and I'd be even more pleased with the tour. |
What's with Megadeth going on tour with these crappy death metal bands, like dillinger escape plan. Dream Theatre and Megadeth is all I'm looking forward to.
|
The Dillenger Escape Plan aren't death metal.
I believe they prefer to be called "Math Metal" /Me explains. Literally adding time signatures up to create new weird and wacky ones, it's not a STYLE of music, but it is unique. Other Math Metaller's are Meshuggah. |
I have nothing wrong with Dillinger. Fear Factory I'm not huge on, but I can tolerate em. Taproot would soil the whole tour.
|

There arent any death metal bands on the Gigantour |
I hope Overkill, Testament, and Symphony X are on Gigantour. That'd be pwnage to go along with DT, 'deth, and DEP. I've never heard any Nevermore.
|
Nevermore is awesome, I haven't heard too much of their stuff but its really great from the select stuff I've had the privelege of hearing.
|
The guitar teacher next to mine, at Stanroy music center is Steve Smyth. He is in Nevermore, and used to be in Testament.
|
I am sorry if this is old news but Megadeth are releasing a greatest hits album in the summer called 'Greatest:Back to the start'
