I'll not want to check that out then.
^what the hell is jurassic metal?
I have no idea. I'm guessing it means 4 old guys making metal music.

Rattlehead 03-25-2006 10:41 AM
I'll not want to check that out then.
I will if its rock, as much as if it's metal. but dont worry, duncmetal was messin(lol, great analogy though.), it could be anything. unless anyone actually knows what jurassic metal is?

Blanka Flip 03-25-2006 10:49 AM
They won't, they've said they wouldn't before. It's written especially for S&M.
Well. That takes care of it.

SimonCore 03-25-2006 10:52 AM

He was probably making a joke that no-one gets when he was saying Jurrassic metal.

I think it would be cool to have I Disappear, No Leaf Clover and -Human on the next album. The two songs sound like they belong on an album. I'd love to hear an entire album in the same style as I Disappear, No Leaf Clover and -Human.

Rattlehead 03-25-2006 11:03 AM

Kirk said it aint gonna happen, according to Happy.

It won't happen. Maybe on a greatest hits album.

They probably won't fit in with the rest of the songs. Like it would sound ridiculous if 'Fuel' was on 'Kill 'em all'.

Jev 03-25-2006 11:34 AM

It'd sure confuse a lot of people though.

\m/-CHeV-\m/ 03-25-2006 11:44 AM

yeah.. I would love to hear a studio version of -human and no leaf clover.. even without an orchestra

Dreaming Neon Black 03-25-2006 12:39 PM
And Kirk's playing isn't?
... No. Or I wouldnt listen to Metallica.

Rattlehead 03-25-2006 12:43 PM

imagine Frantic on AJFA... that would be a right ****-up. lol

willis2441 03-25-2006 01:56 PM

hey everyone,i thought id ask you all something.
me and my friends were debating and we cant figure out which song is the best,
sanitarium,one,or ftb.
which do you think?

SimonCore 03-25-2006 02:04 PM

^That's a hard one. Probably One though.

willis2441 03-25-2006 02:09 PM

my friends went on fade to black, but i stuck with sanitarium.

Jev 03-25-2006 02:11 PM

I'd say Sanitarium.

willis2441 03-25-2006 02:13 PM
I'd say Sanitarium.
i think it has the deepest lyrics, best guitaring, but not drumming.

Rattlehead 03-25-2006 02:16 PM

Musically, One is the best, and i am in love(and always will be) with FTB. but i enjoy them all equally. Sanitarium has great lyrics.:thumb:

yet again we're thinking alike

SimonCore 03-25-2006 02:36 PM

Really it's abit stupid, because they're three of Metallica's best songs = too hard desicion.

Dreaming Neon Black 03-25-2006 03:10 PM

Ah, I'd have to choose One.

But, I dunno, I feel bored and feel like asking Minc. a question...

What are your TWO favorite Metallica songs?

1. Am I Evil?
2. Creeping Death (Especially live in Moscow. :D)

Rattlehead 03-25-2006 03:20 PM

dont make me, there isn't a single 'tallica song i dont like and more than ten of them at least i like equally the most, so i cant answer this Q.

though you sure did make two very gd choices there, but AIE is a cover, so it doesnt count, despite it being a gr8 cover

Yer, since its a cover, Ill go with

1. Creeping Death
2. The Four Horsemen.

On the subject of One vs Sanitarium vs F2B..

I think One>Sanitarium>F2B

I think F2B just doesn't cut it as a song. I hate the rhyme that comes up before the solo. It just completely destroys the atmosphere, IMO. The song just lacks cohesion. Sanitarium is an improvement, but again, I feel that they haven't quite got it. I mean, some of the stuff on the song was ripped off, and therefore they didn't actually create it for the song. Still, an improvement from F2B. One is a huge improvement. The song flows from start to finish. It builds up nicely and continues the same feeling throughout. The only thing I dislike about one is how after he says "God help me!" before the solo, it repeats one of the bits on the guitar. It totally slays the tensions. It really gets to me everytime I hear it.

/mon deux cents

Mother 03-25-2006 03:30 PM

Sanitarium ... and No remorse

I think

i disagree entirely, i think all 3 of those songs are beautifully made, musically brilliant IMO and i really enjoy listening to them.

and i still dont see how any of you can choose a mere 2 songs from 'tallica's entire reem of masterpieces.

Fade to black is best. The most perfect out of all those.

Sanitarium has nice rhythm and better than one's, but one has better solo.

SimonCore 03-25-2006 04:39 PM

One and Sanitarium are more alike than Fade to black. The beggining and verse riff of Sanitarium is pure genius. I'll never tire of it:D

Jim 03-25-2006 11:04 PM

For me, One is simply superior. The other two a great but One just takes the best elements from the first two (opening solo, thumping chorus) and takes it even further. Not to mention the song progresses from ballad to kicking your arse with too much ease. Along with Master Of Puppets, I think it's the quintessential Metallica track, in that it contains everything that makes them great.

superflyjojo 03-25-2006 11:27 PM

We should rate Call Of Ktulu, Orion, and To Live Is To Die. I'd have to say: To Live Is To Die>Call Of Ktulu>Orion. TLITD is just so damn emotional sounding it has awesome riffs and solos throughout, I want this song played at my funeral. Ktulu is just so damn creepy sounding and has a great epic ending. Orion is meh (despite popular opinion), I just never was impressed.

Dreaming Neon Black 03-26-2006 01:39 AM

Ah, I'd have to say...

Orion > TLITD > Ktulu

Orion is musically genius, but so its TLITD and Ktulu.. I love all the riffs to Orion, all of the song is just.. awesome. I like TLITD, especially the slower part, I think its the interlude, not for sure. Ktulu's solo is insane.

heavy metal kid 03-26-2006 01:46 AM

I think Orion is the best out of those, it think is one of the only songs that sounded a bit progressive, in second place i say Ktulu because the intro and the basslines are great and in last TLITD.

Huber 03-26-2006 01:54 AM

It goes TLITD > Orion = Call of Ktulu

I really just can't decide which of the last two I like better.

Captain Quentin 03-26-2006 02:04 AM

i'd say ktulu, i love the solo

PepsiMetal 03-26-2006 02:24 AM

I didn't like Orion, until about a week ago. Now I'm in love with the song.

I'd say to live is to die, then orion, then call of ktulu. They're all great though.

Dreaming Neon Black 03-26-2006 02:39 AM

Do any of you ever wish that Metallica just stopped after ..AJFA? Or the Black album? That way they would have never made these so-called "imperfect" albums?

I dont, I just want your opinions. Would it be best if they had stopped after the tour of a certain album? That way St. Anger or Load/ReLoad were never produced? The self-titled album never produced? RTL never produced?

Of course not. The post AJFA albums have some good songs too. I actually really like "The Unnamed Feeling". I prefer it to most Ride the Lightning tracks.

Huber 03-26-2006 02:59 AM

I'd rather hear more music. It's simply better.
