About Bob Rock:

I think he's a good producer myself. The production on their first four albums wasn't to great at all, but it greatly improved when Bob came in I think.
Bob's previous production credits include:

Motley Crue
Bon Jovi
Aerosmith
Bryan Adams

Sounds to me like an excellent choice for the world's premeire thrash metal band to go out and hire this guy to produce their new and improved pop metal crap.

justine_hammett 09-21-2005 10:29 AM

'tallica are in the studio!!! its just been announced on their website! ok ok they're not recording the new album yet but they are recording their voices for an episode of The Simpsons. how cool. i cant wait. hopefully while they are in the studio they will discuss recording the new album soon!! p.s check out lars' weird beardy thing hes got

Bob is a great producer when it comes to mixing. The Black Album is one of the best mixed albums I can think of off the top of me head.

And Gabe, I love you. 123. Lots. I think that's the first time I've said 123, so you can have the priviledge there. I agree in quantities.

:smash:

DBoons Ghost 09-21-2005 12:00 PM

The Black album was well mixed. Bob helped them craft songs that would appeal to kids as well as be radio friendly.

Bob Rock is an excellent producer. No one questions that. Bon Jovi loves him, as does Motley Crue. His penchent for making pop metal hits out of badly written songs has always been his saving grace.

Previous? Well now he's gotten worse. If I recall correctly, he did the recent Simple Plan album.

He is really a great producer. Everything is extremely well mixed and he can make a hit out of any song, no matter how bad it is.

For me, i'd hire Bob Rock....but my fav metallica songs are...lemme think

- Thing that should not Be
- Creeping Death
- Jump in the Fire
- Fade to Black
- Escape
- Pulling Teeth (A bassist's lullaby..)

I think Metallica died with Cliff Burton, my opinion...but Jason Newstead is an amazing bassist...don't get me wrong...there some amazing stuff he's done but Cliff was in his own league...

I actually don't like TTTSNB, btu I like the rest of those, not my favorites except Fade to Black is their best.

I agree with that bass stuff, but now with Rob I think the next album will be pretty awesome
That doesn't make the song sound bad. And no it's not same chord throughout the whole song.
Are you people not actually reading my posts or what? I stated that to support the fact that the creavity on reload wasnt there like all the presuccesors. And did i say that in itself made the song bad? No, i didnt. Please make sure you've read and fully understand my remarks before commenting back on them.
it had nothing to do with the fact that the album is different then the classic metallica, its the fact that reload simply sucks.
Sucks = Bad..

Which I then disagreed and pointed out that bad seed and slither do not suck, obviously they're not close to the other metallica songs, but that's not the point really. :thumb:

Uh, you said you didn't say that reload sucks, but you did 2 pages ago. I was just pointing that out. Lol, I wasn't arguing btw, just making a conversation. :p

Well no matter what, I still think Reload was pretty bad.

PepsiMetal 09-21-2005 03:37 PM

That's fine. I actually think it's a pretty good album, and if some other band released it, it would have gotten more attention. It's probably a bad album for metallica, but oh well.

i definately agree with that. i think people make too many stereotypes about metallica. such as...after listening to ride the lightning, master of puppets, all the early stuff, when some people listen to reload, load, st anger, all the new stuff they're like whats with this? this isnt good...only because it doesn't sound as good as their old stuff. if a new band debuted with reload, they would be like hey this is cool.

Jev 09-21-2005 03:42 PM

If it was released by a different band I still wouldn't like it that much.
