If I had a talent for killing people, that doesn't necessarily mean I'd enjoy doing it.
But if you knew you had a talent for it, then you would have to have done it, which would make you a really creepy person, which in turn, would possibly make you enjoy it.
Subject talk
This was my highschool subject list:

English
Chemistry
Physics
IT Studies
Maths B
Maths C
UQ Chem

As far as I can tell, the Maths C and UQ Chem were AP level, and the others were Honours level.

As for this semester of Univesity, I am doing:

Evolution of the Earth (05-EA1110-Cns-I-2)
Environmental Chemistry (05-CH2041-Cns-I-2)
Adaptations to the Environment (05-BZ2410-Cns-I-2)
Mathematical Techniques (05-MA1003-Cns-Tsv-I-2)
---------

So, welcome to my first post from University for this semester! Oh me, oh my. I should be looking at my lecture notes, but I am spending my time here, with you guys. Oh, what a fantastic start to the year proper!

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-14-2005 05:29 PM

Jason, how does the school system break down down unda'? Like, at what ages do you attend high school and uni?

EDIT: I got Guitar Pro 4 from Amit, but I can't find the site where you get the actual MIDI tabs from. Can someone point me in the right direction, plzkthxu.

Riva 08-14-2005 05:33 PM

Here in Aus, we call the grades of school Years, and we 12 of them. We only have Primary and High School, also.

Age 4/5 - Preschool/Transition
Ages 5/6-12/13 - Primary School (Years 1 - 7)
Ages 12/13 - 17/18 - High School (Years 8-12)

Then you have University.

Also, our school year is from January to November.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-14-2005 05:36 PM

The breakdown of years is similair to ours. The only difference being that you actually follow the start of the new year for a new school year. :p

Since I got page snyped, can someone give me a link to a site where I can download GP4 tabs?

Riva 08-14-2005 05:42 PM

Alright guys, Gmail me your threads, since I can only find Cain and Stranger's most recent contributions.

Kage 08-14-2005 05:44 PM
mysongbook.com
Yep.

Also, if you search around, there will usually be some indiviudal sites for certain bands that have their own GP4 tabs, but mysongbook is pretty comprehensive.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-14-2005 05:45 PM

Thanks for the link Jom. They have the rest of the Tool songs that I haven't learned there, so I'm already pleased with the program. :p

EDIT: Kewl, they have the extended live version of Stinkfist, their cover of No Quarter(double w00t) but still NO The Patient. I've been trying to find a MIDI version of it for like 2 months. :fistshake/(-)w00t:

I'm betting you're pulling our leg, and you had the drink Sex On The Beach. :p

Riva 08-14-2005 05:57 PM

Ahem. Naturalist = nudist. However, Alternative Lifestyle = homosexual.

This guy is seriously going into too much detail... Jesus, leave the room, arsehole!

Now what the hell, I can't even open up GP4, but it worked for me yesterday.

So, I should probably download GP4, since everyone else is so excited over it. On another note, my lecture for Evolution of the Earth looks fairly interesting.

Beaches are dirty...and itchy.

I start school in a little over a week, in that topic.

Jason, your terms are wayyy too politically correct.

My favorite is Architecture.
In 1955, a new survey was planned which would provide a long series of closely spaced parallel profiles, whereas earlier profiles had been made as opportunities presented themselves on cruises undertaken for other purposes to widely separated geographic areas. The value of magnetic anomaly data at this time was in such low repute, however, that the US Geological Survey refused to fund the magnetic survey as they believed it to be a waste of money. Thus it was that one of the most significant geophysical surveys ever made was wholly financed by the minuscule discretionary funds of the Director of Scripps Institute of Oceanography.
Hehe, the USGS is a really stupid organisation, I think. They also went on record as describing the theory of continental drift as "damn utter rot".
