im not flaming

i've come to not like the new unearth album

Jaundice 02-20-2010 05:30 PM

I used to really dig Shadows Fall when I was in like 8th grade.

2muchket! 02-20-2010 05:30 PM

Not saying you were mate, just I've been accused of doing it.

Good thing is as soon as you post regularly on these boards your taste in music gets better and better.

And I didn't know unearth had a new album out. Probably won't check it out though.

Scoot 02-20-2010 05:31 PM

Shadows Fall were perhaps the next step for me after Metallica.

Xplisit 02-20-2010 05:31 PM

I loved The Fall of Ideals in grade 8

A couple Shadows Fall songs
Shadows Fall were perhaps the next step for me after Metallica.
Basically, I got into them just after I was finishing my Megadeth and Anthrax phase

2muchket! 02-20-2010 05:32 PM

I liked them when I was 14/15 too.

Scoot 02-20-2010 05:32 PM

For me it went Sum 41 (lol), Metallica, Shadows Fall and then Children of Bodom.

From there it's pretty much all over the place.

Jaundice 02-20-2010 05:33 PM

Yeah I was big on Children of Bodom, Night Wish and Sinergy back then.

Scoot 02-20-2010 05:34 PM

Lol Nightwish, I remember liking them until I realized how terrible they were and still are.

Xplisit 02-20-2010 05:35 PM

I tried out Children of Bodom at one point but it didn't last

2muchket! 02-20-2010 05:36 PM

I listened to one song thought this is gay, then never listened again.

Jaundice 02-20-2010 05:37 PM

I had at least three of their albums and listened to them regularly.

beans 02-20-2010 05:39 PM

hatecrew deathroll is still pretty good

never really liked anything else from them

2muchket! 02-20-2010 05:42 PM

Just listened to another song.

Still p gay.

Scoot 02-20-2010 05:44 PM

Follow the Reaper owned my life for a few weeks and then I just got sick of it.

Then I found Wintersun who are far superior but aren't releasing any material like ever again.

Jaundice 02-20-2010 05:45 PM

Yeah Follow the Reaper had me for a little while.

Dimmu Burger 02-20-2010 05:55 PM
I tried out Children of Bodom at one point but it didn't last
I liked them a lot for like a year, but it kinda bores me now.

Scoot 02-20-2010 05:56 PM

Weeell the fact that Blooddrunk is ear-poison doesn't exactly help their case.

2muchket! 02-20-2010 05:57 PM

Just listened to asking alexandria for the lolz.

Crabcore has found another member for the genre it'd seem.

Dimmu Burger 02-20-2010 05:59 PM

They aren't as bad as other crabcore bands. I can listen once in awhile.

2muchket! 02-20-2010 06:00 PM

I'm pretty ashamed to admit they're from my neck of the woods.

Ugh.

beans 02-20-2010 06:01 PM

whats this crabcore you speak of?

Dimmu Burger 02-20-2010 06:03 PM
whats this crabcore you speak of?
A genre of metal music in which the preforming artists, during the break-down section of their song, lower themselves into a crab like position while continuing to play their instruments.
Some scientists speculate that this movement is intended to emphasize the rhythm and beat of the break-down section in a song.

beans 02-20-2010 06:06 PM

ah, your scientific explanation has cleared my confusion

does this genre also have harsh/whiny vocals all in one song, also punctuated by an inevitable trance beat somewhere in the song?

(we came as romans)

2muchket! 02-20-2010 06:10 PM

Yes bad euro trance sections are obligatory. As are v-necks and terrible riffs. And auto-tuning.

We Came As Romans are a guilty, guilty pleasure though.

beans 02-20-2010 06:11 PM

i will have to agree :(

some of their songs are too damn catchy for me to resist
although i do enjoy them in moderation mind you

Jaundice 02-20-2010 06:11 PM

I've seen them live I think. I was thinking about going with a friend to see A Skylit Drive tonight but he got sick.

Dimmu Burger 02-20-2010 06:12 PM

hey don't bring WCAR into this! I likes them.

They're like a sub par dance gavin dance but with poor cleans, and decent harsh vocals.

But they're catchy and a fun listen. Kinda like Broadway in this sense for me.
