So it's been a while since I've been around R/M but Angmar told me to come poke my head in here like I used to occasionally do. So yeah I may be coming back in here on occasion again.
Ahh that stinks, I almost lost all of my music but I found a way to get my ipod to put the music off the broken computer onto the working one so I have it all again.
Yeah I've had to do that before.
You might be able to get a computer repair man to get it to boot but they usually cost a fortune, around here the cheapest run at about 50 bucks an hour, which I just don't have. Especially when they give you a 1 or 2 hour estimate just for diagnostics...
Dang, that sucks. How did it get "fried?"
Ahh I see, I used this one kind of restore once that allowed me to keep all my files, was your computer so far gone that wouldn't have worked?
maybe keep your important stuff on a different partition next time?
Hmm, when I was still using Windows I rendered my laptop unbootable because I formatted the recovery partition it had. That was dumb lol.
I've been really lucky with my laptop. It was top of the line like 4 years ago and it still works great.
Aiight folks I'll be outta here in a minute. Have a good night! |
pretty much. I assume you are on XP.
Yep, running Vista with less than 1GB ram pretty much doesn't happen. It sucks up way to much resources. I don't even need 2GB ram. I'm only using 325MB ram right now and I have a bunch of applications running. |
