Angmar 08-20-2008 07:51 PM

Ahh that stinks, I almost lost all of my music but I found a way to get my ipod to put the music off the broken computer onto the working one so I have it all again.

Dimmu Burger 08-20-2008 07:52 PM

Yeah I've had to do that before.

Angmar 08-20-2008 07:59 PM

You might be able to get a computer repair man to get it to boot but they usually cost a fortune, around here the cheapest run at about 50 bucks an hour, which I just don't have. Especially when they give you a 1 or 2 hour estimate just for diagnostics...

Dimmu Burger 08-20-2008 08:06 PM

Dang, that sucks. How did it get "fried?"

Angmar 08-20-2008 08:06 PM

Ahh I see, I used this one kind of restore once that allowed me to keep all my files, was your computer so far gone that wouldn't have worked?

Pete 08-20-2008 08:09 PM

maybe keep your important stuff on a different partition next time?

RiceMonster 08-20-2008 09:12 PM

Hmm, when I was still using Windows I rendered my laptop unbootable because I formatted the recovery partition it had. That was dumb lol.

Dimmu Burger 08-20-2008 09:15 PM

I've been really lucky with my laptop. It was top of the line like 4 years ago and it still works great.

Aiight folks I'll be outta here in a minute. Have a good night!
pretty much. I assume you are on XP.
Yep, running Vista with less than 1GB ram pretty much doesn't happen. It sucks up way to much resources.

I don't even need 2GB ram. I'm only using 325MB ram right now and I have a bunch of applications running.
