Hey Med, is Blue Lines any good?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 03-17-2005 04:59 PM
The Massive Attack album? Yeah, it's brilliant...although I'm in a minority among Massive Attack fans, I'd say it's better than Mezzanine, as it feels less bloated to me, and there's not a filler song on it, whereas Mezzanine drags a bit for me, even though I still love it. I'd definitely but Blue Lines among my top 10 albums of the 1990s though. I would offer to send you some stuff off the album (or the whole thing), but I don't have it on my computer.
Ever since you told me about this Trip Hop genre I've been downloading buying and stealing every one I can find. Mezzanine & Dummy stand as some of the most frequently played in my CD player lately and I think I'll go buy Blue Lines today thanks. :)

I was going to make a nasty comeback but after revewing your user title and name I have decided that you are harmless and insignificant.

Now leave.
Great decision man...if you like those other CDs, I can pretty much guarantee you'll like Blue Lines. If you like Trip Hop though, you absolutely have to hear Endtroducing if you haven't already. It's by DJ Shadow, and is the first album ever recorded comprised entirely of samples (apparently), and it's generally thought of as trip hop's finest moment, to the extent where he's never even come close to doing anything like it again. If you want, I could send that to you this weekend, but either way, you've absolutely got to hear it.
Please do. :)

Get Birds of Fire. It's absolutely amazing, and Eternal Mounting Flame is supposed to be really good too.

JPJ, maybe.

jpj 03-17-2005 06:10 PM

I haven't memorized it, but I can play most parts fairly well.

thickasabrick 03-17-2005 06:12 PM

I already know the guitar part. I've always wanted to learn the bass part, it's the coolest of the two parts. Never got around to it though (I don't have a bass at home, only at work).

B0nz0 03-17-2005 06:16 PM
