Kage 10-13-2008 10:06 AM

if you want to lose weight, just eat exclusively rice, beans, fruit, vegetables, whole wheat bread, and oatmeal every day for a month you'll be good to go.

masscows 10-13-2008 10:07 AM

or just walk/ride your bike everywhere like me

I've lost 10 lbs since school started and I've been eating alot

Kage 10-13-2008 10:07 AM

bad idea really. Just eat a well rounded diet and work out.

Bread and Faxes 10-13-2008 10:08 AM

Well this morning I ate a granny smith apple, and a small bowl of honey bunches of oat.

I think for lunch, I'll bike to Preston and get a 6 inch sub from subway.

AA-12 10-13-2008 10:09 AM
that is well-rounded, dude.
somewhat. no one would stay on it though when you could have a ton of more options.

Kage 10-13-2008 10:11 AM

yeah

Bread and Faxes 10-13-2008 10:11 AM
that is well-rounded, dude.

I could eat fruit and nuts all day.

No pun intended.

I can see those becoming the thing that keeps me going on my diet.

I had so much energy yesterday after lifting at the gym that I went for a bike ride as well.

Kage 10-13-2008 10:12 AM

i ride my bike 60-80 miles a week, it's the best thing ever

AA-12 10-13-2008 10:13 AM

I should bike more, it'd probably fix my cardio struggle

Bread and Faxes 10-13-2008 10:14 AM

Well I kind of want to walk/run more because you get a lot more exercise for the walking and running.

Like, 3 miles walking/running would have to equal out to 8-10 on a bike.

masscows 10-13-2008 10:15 AM

I walk probably 6-8 miles per day total on weekdays

AA-12 10-13-2008 10:16 AM

i run and play basketball every night. that's pretty much my daily cardio :V

Kage 10-13-2008 10:16 AM

yeah but biking is so much more fun, so I can tolerate a lot more of it. I also run three times a week before I lift weights, but the biking is just so much fun that i can go for hours and I end up burning way more calories than I would going for a jog. and if you find a place with some nice hills and shit, the cardio workout is supreme.

it also shapes your ass/legs much better.

Bread and Faxes 10-13-2008 10:17 AM
i run and play basketball every night. that's pretty much my daily cardio :V
That's a good source of cardio.

But the thing is, your body wants to replace fat with muscle, so if you don't lift any it'll make your legs disproportionate to your upper half.

Kage 10-13-2008 10:18 AM

yeah but i do lift so it's good :)

masscows 10-13-2008 10:18 AM

buff legs yeah!

Bread and Faxes 10-13-2008 10:19 AM
yeah but i do lift so it's good :)
Well it was directed to Ghoul Hunter, but I didn't anticipate a post in between, but your workout seems very well rounded.

So in your honest opinion, what junk/snack foods am I able to get away with?

only partly true, you can't just gain tone in one area when you work out. it happens all over your body.

Kage 10-13-2008 10:22 AM
only partly true, you can't just gain tone in one area when you work out. it happens all over your body.
he wasn't talking about tone, he was talking about actually building muscle

all of them, just set up your daily routine so you get lots of exercise doing stuff you have to do during the day as well as actually setting aside time for exercise

I used to run for 30 minutes every day and I lost weight slower than I do now and I don't even set aside time for exercise, **** special weight loss methods tbh

Bread and Faxes 10-13-2008 10:23 AM
only partly true, you can't just gain tone in one area when you work out. it happens all over your body.
Yes true. But you think, if you're doing certain exercises for certain areas, those areas will be more dominant in accepting the workouts.

So in time, it'll become evident that yes, that part of your body has grown more muscle.

it depends on what you really like. I had a shift in my lifestyle due to some spiritual revelations about a year ago, and I tend to avoid anything artificial, which knocks out most "junk" food. You don't need to be that extreme, but try to stick with products that have whole grains and avoid high fructose corn syrup.

Cut out sodas and fried food if at all possible. That's the best thing yo can do. Don't eat fast food. Just don't do it; it's not doing you any favors. In fact, doing just that you will lose plenty of weight and you can really eat whatever you want. it just depends on how far you want to go with it.
