BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 07-06-2005 03:09 PM

Boston suck.......

I found out who Ray Charles was on the day he died. :-/ I mean I saw him and heard him many times but I had just relized his name.

Glitterati 07-06-2005 03:47 PM

I've always wanted to go to Boston.

JonG 07-06-2005 04:04 PM

I've only heard More Than A Feeling, because I learned the solo :\

ATM 07-06-2005 04:05 PM

Boston are okay, nothing particually exciting, but they aren't bad either.

I said I would send that to you, but I've been busy recently. I could get it up tonight probably, or you could just buy it.

Get Quadrophenia, it's great :thumb:

And Boston's a great one-hit wonder, their debut is great.

Well, technically, wouldn't a one-hit wonder be someone with just one hit song, not album?

Also, does it puzle anyone else how a terrible and repetetive song such as Let The Good Times Roll can constantly get airplay on Classic Rock stations?

lunch998 07-06-2005 06:27 PM

I don't understand why Classic Rock stations do that, but it makes CR seem annoying.

I'll start to upload Quadrophenia in a bit. And seriously, what's with all these terrible threads?

Sweet, any comments on the others?

Review please.

drugstore cowboy 07-06-2005 09:28 PM

So, I just got Music from Big Pink, The Who Sell Out, the Woodstock Dvd, and The Kids are Alright (finally) for the ol' birth anniversary.

With the money I got, I'm want to get A Quick One by the Who, and maybe a few others, I don't know yet.

The Who Sell Out seems to get lost sometimes in between the debut, The Who sings My Generation, and Tommy and Who's Next. For those who don't have said album, I'd go get it. It's harder rock than My Generation, but not as hard or polished as Who's Next. They have a really good sound on this album, especially on Armenia in the Sky and the awesome In the Hall of the Mountain King.

lunch998 07-06-2005 09:31 PM

Yea, I've whored The Who Sell Out a lot in this place. It's a great album, one of The Who's best in my opinion.

And TKAA is amazing.

Each member played great. Derek and Warren have great chemistry. Greggs singing was still great, even though you couldn't really hear his organs that well. Oteil played a great solo in Mountain Jam, along with Butch and Jaimoe, and even the conga guy was good. Overall it was a great concert. They left out a few important classics, but it was still worth it.

Glitterati 07-06-2005 09:40 PM

I've been digging the Allman Brothers lately. I have "Live At Fillmore East" on my computer, I'm not a big fan of live albums, but this is great.

I would have to disagree on Gregs voice. He still sounds like Greg Allman, but you can tell its wearing out a bit. They did a lot of jams when I went. Not bad, but I would have liked to here some of the classics as well. Oteil was the most suprising part of the concert. I've heard Haynes before with Gov't Mule, and Trucks before with his band, but Oteil was really amazing. While the rest of the band went backstage for a break, he stayed out and played for about 10 minutes by himself. And of course, I miss Dickey Betts. As a guiter player, he was my favorite member of the band. I know Haynes and Trucks are great, but I truly believe nobody can match Betts as far as tone.

Did John getting shot win 1st?

Jacaranda 07-06-2005 09:56 PM

I think that Micheal Jackson being a "cho mo" got number 1 or two.
I think that Micheal Jackson being a "cho mo" got number 1 or two.
No, it was Lennon's death.

Jacaranda 07-06-2005 10:00 PM

Oh, then was he number 2? What was Elvis's death?

Glitterati 07-06-2005 10:23 PM

I haven't seen them all. So far, I remember:

-Iggy Pop slashing his chest open during a Stooges concert
-The Who smashing their instruments on the Smothers Brothers show
-Keith Moon accidentally killing his chauffeur
-Karen Carpenter dying from anorexia
-Chuck Berry getting charged with hidden cameras in a women's washroom
-The Red Hot Chili Peppers going on stage with socks on their cocks
-Public Enemy getting in trouble for anti-Semitic comments
-John Lennon getting followed by the FBI

A ton of other stuff. I'm 99% sure Lennon dying is number one, though.

This is hilarious to watch. Especially when it seems like they're done and then Keith Moon's bass drum explodes.

I know she's not classic rock, but it was hilarious seeing Bjork attack that reporter in Thailand.

Nothing about Jerry's Death; I thought that was a little odd.

The public is more interested in Kurt Cobain killing himself.

I think in the first show after that happened, the Smothers Brothers parodied it.

Because it's the best thing that's ever happened to music.

I probably shouldn't have said that.
