Still, a thread in the bass forum might have been a little bit better.

We've been discussing them thar drugs.

BludgeonySteve 03-17-2005 09:56 AM

Normally i'd go all nazi on topic guy on this, but drugs are a big part of classic rock.

On my live aid DVD, Mark Knopler looks so baked. Good times :)

MalcolmYoungRock 03-17-2005 12:23 PM

I think it's gonna be hard to get to the RaR HoF considering I live in So. Cal...

Did anyone see South Park last night? They totally knocked on hippies/jam bands
Did anyone see South Park last night? They totally knocked on hippies/jam bands
What did they say?

jpj 03-17-2005 02:42 PM

It was still a good episode, but they had a big hippie/jam band festival and everyone was making fun of the music, but I actually really liked the song :( And the people on the stage looked like The Polyphonic Spree.

The Live AID DVD is good, but there are a couple performances I could do without, Madonna for example.

Dammit, I wish I had cable here.

jpj 03-17-2005 03:07 PM

Oh, and to drive all the hippies out Cartman built a drilling mechanism to drill through the giant crowd of hippies, and they played a Slayer CD through the PA system. So all the hippies left because it was too angry.

Shred Danson 03-17-2005 03:09 PM

I was just thinking...

Do you guys ever wonder what will be considered "classic rock" in the next 30 years?

jpj 03-17-2005 03:10 PM

The same stuff that's considered classic rock now. They'll think of a new term for 90's rock.

That pissed me off although it was pretty funny. (\ )

thickasabrick 03-17-2005 03:27 PM

That South Park episode wasn't on last night where I live. But I've seen it before and I laughed. Cartman has always hated "hippies".

30 years from now, they will still use the term Classic Rock the same way they do today. They will have some sort of other broad name to label all the music around now. (it's hard to refer to this decades music by the actual decade. 00's?

jpj 03-17-2005 03:28 PM

The single digits.

B0nz0 03-17-2005 03:33 PM

I just got Brian Wilson's Smile, and i officially approve of it.

I agree keep in mind that 50's Rock is labeled Vintage Rock.

Is Smile psychedelic?
