I also agree, Browne > Taylor. I'm not a big fan of Taylor. And I don't like his voice.

Illmatic 07-05-2005 03:56 PM

James Taylor is a wuss of epic proportions.

How is "You've Got A Friend" wussy?

Well, he managed to make millions off his dentist office hits.

My dentist is always playing "Brown Eyed Girl", but if I were a dentist I would probably play MMW or something of the like

Browned Eyed Girl is better than the constant stream of Kenny G.

Glitterati 07-05-2005 04:10 PM

If I were a dentist, I'd play some Stevie Wonder.

My dentist plays Celine Dion :upset:

Nothing makes me angrier than Kenny G. It's like they can't find something everyone likes, so they play stuff nobody likes.
They always play it on airplanes, I will have to watch out it tomorrow

ATM 07-05-2005 04:13 PM

Kenny G \m/

Woodstock 07-05-2005 04:13 PM

Last thing I want is for my dentist to fall asleep while giving me a root canal. :( Ow.

ATM 07-05-2005 04:14 PM

Have you guys head Hollies - King Midas In Reverse?

Walrus Gumboot 07-05-2005 04:15 PM

Does anyone have Rosemary (Grateful Dead) they can send me? It is kind of a sedative :) I am going to need to sleep on a plane tomorrow

Woodstock 07-05-2005 04:17 PM
Have you guys head Hollies - King Midas In Reverse?
Yes, good song. It's also covered on CSNY's 4 Way Street live album

ATM 07-05-2005 04:21 PM

I was just listening to some solo Ginger Baker stuff. It's...different.

TheDMV 07-05-2005 05:01 PM

That's a pretty cool site. I just wish it gave more info on te artists/ related artists.

Broken Arrow 07-05-2005 05:12 PM

Yeah like if it said how they were related.

Illmatic 07-05-2005 06:04 PM

OK, I take back what I said about The Byrds' cover of "Mr. Tambourine Man"

Last night I said that it wasn't as good as Bob Dylan's version.

Now I am convinced that it is one of the most boring songs I have ever heard.

I never knew he had a solo career. I always wondered what happened to Baker and Bruce after Cream.

ATM 07-05-2005 06:33 PM

Yea I've got a few of his mp3s.

Jam2Me 07-05-2005 06:34 PM

Is anyone here a fan of Bruce Hornsby?

Illmatic 07-05-2005 06:39 PM

All I know about Bruce Hornsby is that one of his songs was sampled for "Changes".

robo2448 07-05-2005 06:43 PM

I've never heard of him :upset:

Walrus Gumboot 07-05-2005 06:44 PM
I've never heard of him :upset:
I have but I can't remember where

MBS 07-05-2005 06:54 PM

I've never heard of him either. :upset:

JonG 07-05-2005 07:10 PM

Yeah, Tupac ripped the beat from Bruce Hornsby :)

He's pretty good, End Of Innocence is good.

the name is familiar, though I am not with his work

Badmoon 07-05-2005 07:25 PM

Bruce Hornsby was one of the later Grateful Dead pianists. Though most do not recognize him as a former Dead member.

He's released some great stuff.

Walrus Gumboot 07-05-2005 07:35 PM

Are you all right Badmoon? You have been using more periods that usual

Badmoon 07-05-2005 07:43 PM

I know, I'm a semicolon man.

...I'm just tired :upset:

TheDMV 07-05-2005 07:46 PM
I know, I'm a semicolon man.

I'm bringing back the semicolon. I haven't been using it as much as I used to. I noticed you use them quite a bit though.

Aaahh, that would explain him touring with Bob Weir's Ratdog...I was just curious because he has a familiar name. Is Ratdog any good? Ticket prices aren't bad, maybe I'll check them out.

Badmoon 07-05-2005 07:57 PM

Ratdog is okay if you ask me. However, I heavm't heard that much.

I've heard some live stuff, and I liked it. I'd go to a show if I had the chance.

I just got back from John Fogerty/Mellencamp, and Fogerty was sooooo much better than Mellencamp.

He played almost all CCR songs; Down on the Corner, Up Around the Bend, Travelin' Band, Heard it Through the Grapevine, Midnight Special, Fortunate Son, Born on the Bayou, Badmoon Rising, Lookin' Out my Back Door, Who'll Stop the Rain, some others I can't think of, and he played Green River with John Mellencamp.

The solo songs he played were Centerfield, Deja Vu all Over Again, and two others I didn't recognize.

ATM 07-05-2005 09:47 PM

John Mellancamp = Zzzzzzzz

Yea, his set was alright, but I could've gone without him.

Walrus, has anyone uploaded Rosemary yet? I am now.

Was his voice good? His touring with Mellencamp near me too, would you highly suggest it?

His voice was fantastic, as was his guitar playing. I would definitely suggest it to any CCR fan.

Also, his drummer was John Molo from Phil Lesh & Friends which was cool. I'm sure he's done other stuff, that's just where I know him from.
