RIGHT, so, the cheif rabbi of england came to speak to my school today. We were due to have a politics test, but the rabbi's speech colided with the lesson. Any normal teacher would have delayed the test until the following lesson.

My politics teacher made my class come in half an hour before school, just to do the test. Bitch.
 @ Gurs pain.

GurS 09-27-2005 12:37 PM

thanks for that, ash :upset:

Sorry was only joking.

That sucks big style, I wouldn't have showed up at all if that was me...
No, my homepage is odd now.
Is it either About:Blank or a search engine?

You have Spyware.

So yeh, I spent most of my lunchtime running around with 3 of my friends under a giant cardboard box, with only my head sticking out yelling THE JITTER BOX IS COMING! (the townie kids call us lot ''jitters'' and ''jibber-jabbers/jibba-jabbas'')

Fun stuff, it was all recorded for the 6th Form Review which is in December.

GurS 09-27-2005 01:40 PM

any other teacher, i wouldn't have turned up. but my politics teacher has our whole class terrefied (cba to spell)

the thing that really takes the piss is that she didn't even turn up until normal lesson time - some other teacher was there to start it for us!

the_uber_penguin 09-27-2005 02:29 PM

Woohoo!

I'm in Sutton Battle Of The Bands!

I think I need to arrange some rehearsals.

Spectrum 09-27-2005 02:30 PM

Yay for Penguin!

I hope you win. What're you gonna play?

Spectrum 09-27-2005 02:38 PM

Also, thank you to those who helped explain Cricket. I still think I like Baseball better, but most likely only due to familiarity.

the_uber_penguin 09-27-2005 02:48 PM
Run outs dont count :p But still, 4 in an over is still great.
I ran him out :p

The ball was thrown, missed, I was standing behind the wicket, caught it and stumped the loser.

I'm playing original songs Spec. One very Greenday-esque one called Long Live pt. IV: Corporate Punishment, and one called Purgatory's Angel (Punk Rock Cliché and finally one called Suicide In The Trenches, but I stole the lyrics for that from a Siegfried Sassoon poem.

Spectrum 09-27-2005 02:53 PM

Originals is always a good time. And poem-stealing is acceptable.

I just signed on as rhythm guitarist, pianist and vocalist for a group that I helped form up here at college. We're still working on covers, like "Where is My Mind?" and "Avon", and I'm going to introduce "All Along the Watchtower" soon. However, the process of writing originals for this band has started, though that's going pretty slow.

Good luck with the show.

GurS 09-27-2005 03:21 PM

so, my mate lent me a 'hope of the states' cd - he says i'll like 'em. they seem pretty good.

what do you peeps reckon?

GurS 09-27-2005 11:51 PM

Few energetic tracks, but his voice annoys me after a few songs.

Ok to watch the odd video on MTV2, but nothing more

Yeh Professional Football in England has been completely ruined by Chelsea, I have lost a mighty amount of intrest in it.

we got let out of school at 2.20 today. My school owns.
Once again, Gur takes the FOD
Also being the lowly noob I am, can one of you guys tell me what 'FOD' is please

Spectrum 09-28-2005 10:53 AM

Uh oh... Brum's gettin' old.

We don't need no geriatrics in this thread, so you'd better get real young again.

I've never actually heard of Hope of the States. For anyone who cares to answer, what are they like?

Also, I wish I had days like that. Darn.

Haven't spoke to you for what seems like ages Ben.

How are you? Anything going on at all? :)

GurS 09-28-2005 11:24 AM

at the moment, i think they're alright - a bit whiny for my tastes, but my mate said that they are a 'grower' band, so we'll see :)

There are those bands and songs that grow on you over time... I mean, I never thought I'd like Radiohead after hearing "Creep". Now they're my favorite band. And there are those singers that you learn to appreciate over time *cough*Geddy Lee*cough*Claudio Sanchez*ahem*

I hope they turn out to be as good as your friend thinks they are.

Fine and dandy thank you :) I actually tried looking for a Napalm Death album the other day, but went with Deadwing instead

And FF11 is still dominating my timeline. Though certain people do keep me around here (one by forceful emailling demands mind you)

Heh.

I think you'd really like some of their newer stuff, it's really similar to Fear Factory. Anyway, yeah, MX is slightly slowing down of late...Hmmnah...anyhow.

I actually have a friend here in college that likes to play FFXI. I wish I had that kind of time management ability. Anyway, what is your FFXI character named?

Spectrum 09-28-2005 11:58 AM

ATTN: BEN

I very much enjoy the music of The Black Mages. I think it was you that YSI'd me their first album, and I want to say two things:

1. Thank you so much.
2. Tracks 5 and 8 failed to work on my computer.
