tis amazing indeed. I can't get enough of the second rendition of good lovin on that disc either.
He's Gone, Jack Straw, Ramble on Rose > All

None of those songs were ever put on a studio album, btw.

I'll upload the extra A.B. tracks for you :).

RockAndRoll 03-16-2005 10:36 PM
I'd be willing to give you other albums if you want. I'm always like to give away anything concerning the Dead.
And I always like to get anything concerning the dead.

Badmoon 03-16-2005 10:37 PM
Yea Jerry would just be awsome to talk to. I have a cd that has interviews with him put in order so they tell stories about his life in order. Its really cool, it really makes me wish I could have talked to him.
Timothy Leary use to spread the word of Psychedelics because he was able to get in touch with God and Jesus. And to think a religious man like Leary was (at one time) "America's most Dangerous Band" ~ Richard Nixon.

:p

I like on the Festival Express movie, when all these riots are going on, Jerry is just like "Cmon man, let's just settle down and play some music, man."

pigonthewing82 03-16-2005 10:38 PM

My favorite Dead live cd would have to be Hundred Year Hall. I love Playing in the Band on it. Well and also its the cd that got me into the Dead. After the first few cords played on Bertha I was hooked.

Those protestors were dumb arses. Wanted the musicians to pay out of their own pockets to play for them.

They wanted free weed, free food, etc. So stupid.

If I was on that stage, I would have punched that greasy, spoiled, Canuck (Sorry all) bastard right in the face. Remember him?

Jerry was too nice.

RockAndRoll 03-16-2005 10:40 PM

I'd want to talk to morrisson so much though. See what he was actually like.

You know a funny story about LSD and Nixon, one time Abby Hoffmen was at the White House and Nixon was about to have a press confrence. She was going to put some LSD in his drink so he would be tripping for it. Now thats a horrible thing to do, but to have footage of Nixon tripping would be the best thing to ever be put on TV.

To sum them up in a few words. Completely brain dead.

ATM 03-16-2005 10:41 PM

Did anyone hear the story about the guy who traveled with the Dead, but didn't do LSD?

My favorite Jerry quotes come from the Woodstock movie. He just is so awsome.

Badmoon 03-16-2005 10:43 PM

They had NO idea of what they were getting. They were be given a few of the key bands from the San Francisco scene.

I would be so freaken happy, I would have bought extra tickets, so I could just randomly hand them out to people.

Pigpen didn't do LSD.

It's crazy how the tour flopped.

Maybe Badmoon knows his name, but anyway their was a guy who didn't do any drugs, he just drank a lot of soda. The guys were constantly trying to sneak LSD in his drink, and he would get really mad. One day they actually manged to get it in, so when the guy drank his soda, he was tripping his balls off. When he realized that he was tripping, he got so mad and ran to yell at the band members. After he got done yelling, they asked him if he wanted to play bongos with them. He said he ended up playing bongos for four hours

Badmoon 03-16-2005 10:45 PM

Yea, but apparently, the artists had a good time. :p

Well, I haven't heard that story, but here is something interesting. In my latest purchase of Relix magazine, there are numerous Grateful Dead related pictures (The magazine use to be a G. Dead magazing, but now is a Jam magazine). And one of the pictures showed Pigpen's organ. On top of the organ were at least 6 (different sized) cans of Coke.

I read the story I just posted in Blender . They were doing an excerpt from a book about the Dead.

 that's awesome. People around here can get pretty dumb about drugs. There's essentially a two kinds of people. The people who never do drugs and the people who never do anything but do drugs. Which is annoying because it means when you're with them you never just get high and chill out, when you're high you're getting high or searching for some stuff to get high.

Badmoon 03-16-2005 10:51 PM

What book? Living with the Dead?

That is annoying. I'm like you, I enjoy a good high here and there, but I'm not a fiend for it or anything.

I can't remember, I could probably dig up the Blender if my room wasn't trashed.

Linda McCartney's book 60's has some cool picutres, got to love gerry's pony tales.

I know it's terrible because you're high but you don't do anything fun. My life's goal isn't to be high 24/7, but I could swear it's theirs.

I like doing it with different groups of people. Doing it with my family (brother and cousins) for example was fun.
