True, the album's production aint that bad.

Get Bergtatt, Ceminon.

witchxrapist 01-21-2010 11:50 AM

Yeah, I think he'll like Bergtatt the most of their material.

I know I personally do, it's just so ****ing honest and young sounding idk.

My one friend owns Ulver's entire disco, even Vargnatt.
agreed

at least it sounds like music!

Angmar 01-21-2010 11:51 AM

The production on Bergtatt is pretty perfect, just the way the drums sound and idk it's amazing.

Txus 01-21-2010 11:51 AM

Bergtatt is the best, yeah.

witchxrapist 01-21-2010 11:52 AM

The English translations of the names are soooo funny too.

Morumbar 01-21-2010 11:56 AM

Will do.

masscows 01-21-2010 11:58 AM

Bergtatt was a huge inspiration for Agalloch if that's any greater incentive for you to get it.

Angmar 01-21-2010 11:59 AM

First song is my favorite tbh

witchxrapist 01-21-2010 12:00 PM

I completely forgot how good I Troldskog Faren Vild is. Goddamn I've been slacking on my Ulver listening.

Yeah Steve, beat me to it.

Txus 01-21-2010 12:03 PM

I think I'm the only one who prefers later era Ulver in here :p

But they are just amazing in everything they do.

Even the new song whcih is kinda Surf-ish is great.

witchxrapist 01-21-2010 12:04 PM

I like all of their stuff a lot, but Bergtatt and The Marriage Of Heaven & Hell stand out the most to me.

Hawks 01-21-2010 07:18 PM

Bergtatt and Nattens Madrigal are both classics for black metal IMO. Perdition City, Blood Inside, and Shadows of the Sun are all really good too.

AA-12 01-21-2010 07:23 PM

lyckantropen themes is definitely my favorite. its the only ulver i listen to much anymore.

bergtatt rules pretty hard as well though

Tyler 01-21-2010 07:30 PM

I find Perdition City to be kind of mediocre.

Txus 01-21-2010 07:31 PM

Perdition City is quite awesome.

Stormrider 01-21-2010 07:31 PM

ive never heard any electronica Ulver

Txus 01-21-2010 07:35 PM

You should try some.

Hawks 01-21-2010 07:36 PM

Yeah give it a try. Might take you a while to get into because I really hated it at first, but it grows on you.

Meatplow 01-21-2010 07:40 PM

listening to Beherit

Hawks 01-21-2010 07:43 PM

I only have Drawing Down the Moon from Beherit. Rules pretty hard.

Meatplow 01-21-2010 07:44 PM

Yeah, I haven't heard anything else.

Hawks 01-21-2010 07:47 PM

Actually I take that back. I also have heard Oath of the Black Blood, but haven't listened to it in a very, very long time.

witchxrapist 01-21-2010 07:54 PM
I find Perdition City to be kind of mediocre.
It's got its moments, but it's definitely their next most overrated release to Vargnatt.

Angmar 01-21-2010 08:47 PM

Vargnatt is kinda sorta lame.

Anglachel 01-21-2010 08:58 PM

first three tracks of Perdition City + last track are pro

the rest of it is forgettable

rasputin 01-21-2010 08:58 PM

ive had that album for so long but never listened to it

RetiredAt21 01-21-2010 09:00 PM

Drawing Down the Moon is ridiculously good.

rasputin 01-21-2010 09:01 PM

yah it rules

Stormrider 01-21-2010 09:02 PM
Drawing Down the Moon is ridiculously good.
Indeed. Easily one of my favorite black metal albums.
